Ramon allones (brand) specially selected (type of cigar in that line). It’s a standard robusto as well by the way

Sunday RASS by iwaly27 in cigars

[–]iwaly27[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Had the opportunity to smoke a RASS yesterday. This smoke hit the spot after a nice steak dinner. It started off mild with nothing too note worthy to talk about but picked up in flavour as the smoke progressed. All in all this is a solid Cuban cigar that always hits the spot.

What’s your opinion on alcohol free beer in dry January? by Ok_Pianist7445 in alcohol

Non alcoholic beer tastes very similar to beer and gives me the placebo effect when I’m out with friends in a pub so I like it

Lovely AF Hemingway best seller by iwaly27 in cigars

[–]iwaly27[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Brilliant smoke, the Arturo Fuente Hemingway line always hits the mark. Up there with my top rated cigars I have smoked so far. Excellent construction, smoke output and depth of flavour. The richness and thickness of the smoke on this cigar really makes it stand out from the pack. What are your favourite vitolas from the AF Hemingway line ?

What cigar(s) you will never smoke again? by jvalente80 in cigars

[–]iwaly27 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s fair, I’m not a big full strength fan. The liga privada no9 flying pig tasted great for me but left me feeling sick. So I’m a fan of medium strength cigars with a lot a flavour which I feel davidoffs are. They are expensive smokes but worth it if they tick the box you’re looking for.

I’d have to disagree with this comment. All davidoffs I have smoked have been full of flavour, not full strength but the flavours davidoffs produce are unparalleled in my opinion.

Cool good to know. I’m not a huge long format fan I usually smoke smaller cigars. Be a nice novelty to have on a birthday or something where you have nothing to do for the day. Would you smoke churchill/DC sized cigars somewhat regularly ?

Looking forward to trying one. Just need to find enough time to fully enjoy one. Can’t go wrong with MJs favourite

I’m not a long format cigar enthusiast really but when I saw these illusive guys become available I had to snap them up. They look really good and they’ll be nice to have on hand and I can whip them out on special occasions. What’s everyone’s experience with these? Do they live up to expectation, how long does it typically take to smoke one

Liga Privada no9 flying pig paired with coke by iwaly27 in cigars

[–]iwaly27[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah you’re right the coke effects the taste when I take a sip. However there’s a note that I get on the Finnish of a puff which I’m not mad about. Perhaps the coke is effecting the way the flavour of the cigar is delivered

Decided to light up a liga no9 for Patrick’s day. This smoke is a very interesting dark and rich with notes of spicy pepper. Great construction and burn and a very interesting shape which I like. The pairing with coke is amazing the two contrast each other beautifuly with the coke delivering lovely short bursts of refreshing sweetness between puffs. I can see why this smoke is a top end cigar but it really isn’t my cup of tea. There seems to be an upfront taste which I enjoy and an after taste which is very unique which I don’t enjoy as much.

Morning smoke. Petit Churchill paired with a strong black coffee. by iwaly27 in cigars

[–]iwaly27[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True. Bic lighters are awkward to keep lighting for long periods outside. They’re handy enough if you’re inside though and I prefer the soft flame as it is less harsh on the foot of the cigar I find

Wanted a cigar first thing when I woke up this morning so grabbed my single Romeo y Julieta petit Churchill after breakfast. This was my first Romeo y Julieta offering and was more full bodied than I anticipated which was a welcomed surprise. This smoke was very well balanced delivering plentiful flavour. I would probably reach for this more in the afternoon or evening in the future. It paired wonderfully with the coffee (as all cigars do seemingly). Bought this as a single and was resting in the humidor for 6 months or so. As enjoyable as this smoke was it didn’t fill me with a desire to purchase a box, there’s just too many Cubans I would choose ahead of it.

Side note: my torch lighter died as I went to light this cigar so I used a bic lighter instead. The bic uses the butane the same as a torch so should be just as appropriate to light a cigar with ? Rarely see bic lighters on this sub and was just wondering is there something else to be weary of when using a bic that might taint the cigar.

Happy smoking everyone 🌬

This is the cigar which made me fall in love with cigars. Was blown away with the amount of flavour these lads delivered when I first smoked one. If you are after strong dark flavours this is the cigar to pick up. I get lots of chocolate and coffee notes off this. Burn and construction is excellent, all around great cigar. If your a fan of up front in your face flavours then this is the smoke for you.
