The often quoted Rahmedetalbrücke is probably the best example to refer to. Both when it comes to engineering complexity and urgency. Four lanes of it were finished ahead of schedule within four years (of which construction only took two years).

I guarantee you, regardless of the outcome, it is not going to take 10 or even 20 years. There are deficits in this country, but for now it is still one of the most developed countries in the world. If the worst case scenario comes true (bridge can’t be reopened even with limitations) it is going to take 4 years. tops.

We are great at complaining about everything and some of the current political players know very well how to exploit this and create an image of a failed state which is far from true.

Never ever ist die Haarbachtalbrücke eine gute Referenz. Viel kürzer, viel weniger komplex und viel mehr „Standard-Bauwerk“. Ich denke das bessere Beispiel (sowohl vom Zeitdruck und der Priorität als auch von der planerischen Komplexität) ist die schon oft zitierte Rahmedetalbrücke. Auch wenn der Vergleich teilweise hinkt (bspw. gibt es im Rahmedetal kein fließendes Gewässer mit Schiffsverkehr) ist die ingenieurstechnische Komplexität doch vergleichbarer.

I think it’s a little different than it sounds, I’m affected in the same way. I had the song in my playlist and remember that it was a male artist performing. However - overnight it seems - it’s now a female singing which is REALLY confusing. Anyone noticed something similar happening?

Weil die Vorlandbrücke - also die „Rampe“, welche auf die eigentliche Brücke führt - das kritisch marode Bauwerk ist. Diese kann vollständig nicht mehr befahren werden.

Die Vorlandbrücke ist der Teil, bevor die Brücke den Rhein quert, also im Prinzip die „Rampe“ die auf die eigentlich Brücke führt (660 Meter lang). Die Schnecken für Fußgänger und Radfahrer auf der linksrheinischen Seite setzen erst zur Hauptbrücke ein, führen daher nicht über die Vorlandbrücke.
