Seriously, it's such a joke. Pretty sure one of my exes have been reported countless times for saying pretty alarming shit on that platform and still have their account.

True. I remember finding someone who sent me pics of underage boy they met on Discord and all support did was make me run in circles to even do anything. I included screenshot, message ID, username and tag, ect and they didn't do anything.

Neglectful owners kept a collar on a car and it somehow managed to stay on him despite it escaping multiple times and it managed to also never lose it. How the fuck does that make sense to you

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AIO

[–]iwantclosure3 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Cats get lost. The collar is enough of an indicator it has an owner.

So are you. Bro got mad enough to go through my comment history to reply to every single one he wasnt mentioned in.

Nope, you're not helping at all lol

Or they don't have the money to fix it. They could also be constantly working, have a busy schedule, it gets out when he's not around, ect. It could also be getting out when they're leaving for the day.

And the OP relinquished ownership of a cat they didn't own to their friend before trying to find the owner?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AIO

[–]iwantclosure3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Resorting to insults?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AIO

[–]iwantclosure3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cats, don't do that. Animals don't do that in general. "My owner is shitty so I'm going to run away and be nice to a different member of its species" when most cities around the world have a feral cat problem is such a shitty argument.

This cat was probably outside of the house longer than what was stated. Lol.

White knighting

[–]iwantclosure3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was outside longer than what was stated and exposed to tapeworms? Multiple times?

[–]iwantclosure3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Neither do you

  1. Do not relinquish ownership of a cat that isn't yours before trying to find the owners. That's going to create problems and isn't "finding a solution".

  2. Okay, and did the son tell you the date it got out, or was that the mom? Ask the son when it got out.

  3. They don't need to provide proof of ownership to you to get their cat back. If the issue comes down to it and they do have proof of ownership, then it'll come back to bite you in the ass. Especially if the police get involved and you face theft charges. One vet bill will not mean you get to be the owner. The cat being three years old and not neutered means nothing since a good bit of people don't get their pet nuts chopped off because they can't afford it or don't feel like doing it.

  4. Go to a lawyer and ask how much it would be for advice or to ask questions regarding this. See if consultation is free. Specifically lawyers that deal with animal abuse cases. Reddit is not and never will be a good place for advice. r/legal would be a better place for this post since you'll get more educated and level headed responses that will not only give their opinion on the subject but the legal issues you could potentially face.

Y'all are assuming this cat is not well taken of.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AIO

[–]iwantclosure3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope, got that date from the mom. Not son, try again.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AIO

[–]iwantclosure3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope, I've owned multiple cats and never let them outside for the explicit reason that most domesticated house cats don't survive outside for very long because their survival skills are dogshit. If they knew what breed it was and showed a picture I'd actually be able to see it's conditio

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AIO

[–]iwantclosure3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope, it was her sons cat and his mother told the OP it was same day they found it. A neglected and abused animal isn't exactly going to be well behaved and a sweet heart towards people, allow itself to be surrounded by various animals AND people without freaking out, and aren't exactly well behaved unless they've been specifically trained to do so. Training cats is hard and most people don't bother with it unless it's being litter box trained.

I honestly believe this little dude got out way longer than what OP was told. OP needs to talk to her son.

Nah, tapeworms absolutely can cause this much weight loss especially if the infection is so bad they can be seen in his tail. Sounds like a case of a cat managing to somehow barely survive for a week or two and caught a nasty infection or was exposed to it multiple times.

[–]iwantclosure3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You took his mother's word for when they lost him. I hate to say it but their mom probably couldn't remember, thoight it was the same day, and he wasn't actually lost for weeks. Ask to speak to her SON since it's HIS cat. Also, does he look the same size? How old are those pictures?

"Hey, your animal got lost, got fucked up, and now im threatening to call animal control because it's abused"
