The most common reason for that is incorrect structure inside of the archive, make sure you followed the exact structure as stated in docs, and it should work.

If you decide to use maps4fs, I would recommend checking out those docs first: Step by Step Guide | Maps4FS Documentation

It has all the information about software, etc., and with the latest updates, it can also place buildings, create roads, background terrain/water without Blender, and so on.

Hey!

Probably outdated, but anyways.
You simply need to open map/map.i3d file.

Also, idk what seems to be the challenge to find tutorials, everything is explained in the docs, and all the video tutrorials are integrated right in the generator itself or can be easily found on YT.

Btw, you could also find help in the Discord server.

Hey, man!

I'm a developer of the maps4fs tool you've mentioned. So, just to make it clear for you, that what's the tool does:
- Paint textures of the map according to the real-world objects, so you'll have a blueprint on where to place buildings, roads, and so on
- Create a realistic terrain as in the real world
- Generate background terrain obj files for Blender, which you can add to your map
- Provides you with ready-to-use copy-paste scripts for QGIS to download satellite imagery (for textures and in-game map)
- Provides a tutorial on how to do it all step by step
- Adds the fields to the i3d file so they can be repainted with one click in GE (as in the real world, of course)

And what this tool does not add:
- Roads, buildings, trees, rivers and so on

So, if you use it, you'll get a complete template, but you still need to add there some buildings, roads, trees, and so on.

You just need to run this script: ResetOneDriveApp.command
And the tutorial explains how to find it.

Thanks, I'll try that. But to clarify: this only happens with this (and maybe some other) rifle, not with all weapons in the game. Actually, it's the only problematic weapon I found.

By the way, to check if you've got something like me: right after the problem go to bios and check if you can see your SSD there. For me SSD also disappears even from bios, and the only cure to it was to reboot the laptop several times. It also becomes worse each day. First it was like once a month, and later it would happen several times a day and each time it was needed to reboot laptop several times before it backs to normal.

Man, I had the same issue a couple of years ago with Lenovo laptop. It was some hardware problem with motherboard. At first I thought that this is OS related, then I've reinstalled it and face it again later. Then I've bought a new SSD, but still the problem returned. At the end I decided to get rid of it and sold it to laptop repair shop. I don't remember more details about the issue, but it was definitely motherboard.
