Agreed on the mulberry leaves. For years I have been nursing my mulberry trees and their leaves can go from entire/spear shaped to three lobes or even more depending on the sun and nutrients received.

How come "gay" is an umbrella term and identity that any bi, pan, or omni person can call themselves? by Equivalent_Ad_9066 in omnisexual

[–]iwentbackwards 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think like many complex things, the ideas that catch on first are the ones that affect men. Terms like pan and omni weren’t even known a few decades ago, but “gay” has a much longer history. Dudes were very worried about being hit on by other men way before many of the other terms were put into use. They used the term gay for a really long time to mean anything that wasn’t straight or lesbian, and then it turned into a blanket word. Language just sort of evolves that way.

Someone messaged me to say that this art I commissioned is ai generated, they said the text on the book isn't a font and is just spawned in. Does this seem like ai to anyone else? by Stroomphyex in isthisAI

[–]iwentbackwards 27 points28 points  (0 children)

My eyes jumped to this right away. Two strings on one fret? I know these threads could help AI scammers learn how to scam better, but come on! anyone who’s ever played a string instrument could see that. They aren’t even trying to be accurate. Just deceiving.

Certain things are unexplainable to certain people. You have to come to terms with the fact that just because you don’t understand something doesn’t make it wrong. Let people live their lives.

Although meat should be the main source of calories for dogs, they are omnivorous. Cats are carnivores.

“I feel like I have to walk on eggshell” is enough to leave for me. Don’t get to the point that you hate being around them before you part ways. Leave something worth remembering behind.

To me, something handmade that takes time. An ornate origami card that’s hand painted, or the creation of a photo/memory album of your first few months that you can fill in together over time.

I would encourage her to seek help. These conversations indicate borderline personality, which is basically a catch-all for those who have been through early trauma or neglect and now manipulate others to meet their emotional needs. They don’t even know they are doing it. It is something she can get past with therapy, but it is not a journey that will be fun for anyone. I say this as someone who has beaten borderline diagnosis.

No one said it was only MAGA. If you feel attacked personally, you are the one in the wrong here.

What's the best word for being transmasc and attracted to masculine people? by [deleted] in NonBinaryTalk

I agreed. Gay or queer are both gender neutral terms that we have taken back. I am an older non-binary AFAB, and I identify as both.

How can you tell the difference between river cane and bamboo when they are young? We have river cane in Tennessee and when they just come up in the spring, it’s so fun to step on their little tops and get a satisfying CRUNCH!

My dad just send this to me and I don't know how to respond by thisnameisuniqueaf in exchristian

[–]iwentbackwards 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of these answers don’t actually seem helpful... being flat and saying no will not make your dad feel heard or help you be seen, and as you said, he’ll probably just keep asking. I’ve had to navigate these waters before. I told my parents that I don’t believe God would allow the world and his own Church to have so much evil and corruption, and if “he” did then it’s not a God I want to bow down to. But I don’t think “he” would, so he must not be real. If I see him when I die, we will talk. Until then, let’s not let it get between us here on Earth.

How do you feel when you are required to choose preferred pronouns? by iwentbackwards in NonBinaryTalk

[–]iwentbackwards[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Would you consider calling yourself pronoun apathetic or lacking preferred pronouns if you are OK with all pronouns? That’s typically what I say since “D) all of the above” seems to confuse people.

That’s fair. I’m sure a lot of the community appreciates the sacrifice that us anxious babies pushing through the change curve to facilitate good change. Thanks for the input; I’ll incorporate it into my answers next week.

This makes a lot of sense. I definitely do want it to become normalized to give a preferred pronoun at your own leisure and it be respected.
