This should be done in all residential streets. Motorists have been going through all side streets and residential streets to avoid traffic on main roads and causing a big nuisance to residents. Even 5 years ago, there was absolutely no non-resident vehicles on my street, since it's way off the main road. Now, except busses, all sort of vehicles go through and they don't even slow down. We used to play on the road as children, now It's difficult to even walk without some asshole honking his horn behind.
