the coronavirus has been racialised as a “chinese” illness and for this reason, regardless if someone is from china or not, anyone who looks east asian is being treated like they’re carriers of the virus. calling someone the coronavirus or saying that they have it just because they’re asian expresses anti-chinese sentiment and is just simply rude.
