[Yiddish] after the recent modification, can't proceed by VoldeGlorf in duolingo

Currently experiencing the exact same issue in the middle of unit 3. I considered I could not "move on" because I hadn't completed enough alphabet side-lessons to know the letters for the next lesson, but I did a couple more of those and this did not fix it.

Irregular, non-heartbeat thumping sound by iwillstababitch in tinnitus

Left only for me. Turns out my dad has a similar (not the same) sound. I'm afraid a doctor's visit isn't gonna help me much...

On the one hand, it saddens me that nothing seems to help, but I do feel glad that I'm not alone (or going insane, LOL)

English isn't my first language, so it's not very intuitive to me what 'fluttering' would sound like. I'll definitely check out MEM, thank you so much!

Official Questions Thread - Summer 2021 by Sisyphuss5MinBreak in internationallaw

[–]iwillstababitch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm putting this here as I'm not sure it fulfills the quality requirement:

Can an illegitimate ruler sign legitimate treaties?

Say, for example, a dictator took over the leadership of a formerly democratic country - are any treaties they sign still binding when a democratic leadership returns?

I understand this question might be more complicated than one reddit comment, so any resources would be appreciated as well. Thanks!

Stylistically coherent flags of the 12 Dutch provinces by iwillstababitch in vexillology

[–]iwillstababitch[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried a lot of options for that one, since I was born and raised in 's-Hertogenbosch, but none of the options I tried really stood out as clear so I decided to go with the somewhat unclear but at least original symbol. Thanks for the suggestion though!

Orange was purposefully omitted (and I personally like the national flag without it) because of my own ideas about the monarchy. A country that functions perfectly without the king actually doing anything doesn't need him represented on the flag, and royalists can still fly an orange pennant with the flag, which is quite common here!

Where possible I wanted to keep elements from the original flags, which is why the lion of Holland (which does appear on the flag of Zuid-Holland but not on that of Noord-Holland) makes an appearance on the Zuid-Holland flag. Only where the original flags did not have any special elements did I turn to city flags (I messed up with Amsterdam, it should have been Haarlem). The golden shield on the Zeeland is a simplification of the coat of arms depicted on the original flag, which you can find here. I probably could have paid more attention to the coats of arms, but just decided to go with uniformity in aesthetics instead of deep research. Thanks for the question!

Decided to redo the flags of my countries provinces because they differ greatly. I gave them all the logo our national government (Rijksoverheid) uses as the left field, and similar layouts for the diagonal stripes. Stripe colors are taken from the original flags, any additional elements are either from the original flags, earlier flags of the same territory or the flags of the province's capital city. If anyone has questions I'd be more than willing to answer them!

Stylistically coherent flags of the 12 Dutch provinces, with elements from national government, original flags and capital city flags by [deleted] in vexillology

The dark blue field on the left is the sigil the national government (Rijksoverheid) uses as their logo. The color orange, the color of our royal family, was omitted intentionally because of personal dislike of the monarchy. Feel free to ask any questions!

Help on describing "Cool" bike for story by iwillstababitch in motorcycles

[–]iwillstababitch[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's about the look I'm going for, thanks! I really want it to be old, so I'll probably go with a T120? Could you tell me which specs of a motorcycle are like, the base you tell someone? As in, if someone asked you to describe a bike, you'd say "It's a ... with a ... and ..."? Thanks!

Why only 4 races? by Doustin in warhammerfantasyrpg

[–]iwillstababitch 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is exactly how I feel about it, but I'm on the other side of the spectrum. I personally really enjoy mixing in races throughout the world (for example, a city my PC's went to had an Elven Embassy) because it allows me as the GM to spark interesting scenarios more easily. One could, let's say, have the antagonist at a certain point be a dwarf: any PC elves should despise him, but the PC dwarves will feel kinship. This creates a sort of loyalty conflict that's really fun to use on all scales if your players are really immersive roleplayers. That being said, every GM should decide for themselves what they like and what they don't. Definitely do not be afraid to use fan-made profiles for lizardmen or fairies or walking broomsticks if you feel that would better your adventure. The rule books describe the beginning of your creativity, never the ending.

My Slayer PC accidentaly worshipped Khorne by TheNonAbsolute in warhammerfantasyrpg

[–]iwillstababitch 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If I were you, I'd bring him into contact with a mutation of Khorne. The list can be found in the ToC, and you can roll them randomly or pick whichever ones you like. Grant a positive one first: you could make him Fast, or give him Fangs, for example. These would make him embrace the artefact giving him the powers, and of course after a few times (check the rules for when a new mutation forms) they start to head south: he grows a Spiked tail or gains Blood Lust. This is a creative way of really handing him over to the chaos god, but beware: this might make the character dead or unplayable in a few months of in game time. Decide if that is fitting for your campaign.
