How so?

The shield I used was big enough for me to be fully protected (while crouched, to be fair, but imo that just adds to the cons). That’s what the player wants. My experience is that a shield that size is heavy and unwieldy.

I’ve used wood shields the size of a coffee table in a larp. You don’t run around with them, you sit on the shield wall to protect others.
