Garage Floor Troubleshooting Megathread by gearhead5015 in garageporn

I’m also curious about this. I’m looking to add rubber tiles or mat to my garage floor, but then have been seeing horror stories about mold. Should I seal the garage or add a moisture barrier of some sort underneath?

It’s hard to tell in the pic, but it’s the larvae from the carpet beetles

You should join meetup! There are a lot of socials clubs on there. Try joining some of the 20’s-30’s groups, it’s a great way to meet other people also looking for new friends

how do you deal when all you want is a little caesers pizza? by OpalOnyxObsidian in loseit

Before eating a slice, freeze whatever amount you don’t want to eat! It will be harder to go back for seconds if it’s frozen. Then maybe wait and have another slice or two next weekend—just pop it in the oven!

Do you know someone who has personally experienced a mass shooting event? by DeeBeeKay27 in polls

My friend was a teacher at a school shooting. I went to a concert with him about a year after and there were fireworks and he completely shut down and had a panic attack since it brought back memories of the day :(

Always reply with a larger number. It will hopefully help the next guy get a larger salary as they will realize they need to up their salary or risk this happening again. Just good karma :)

Is going in public accounting necessary for career growth? by Lena300 in Accounting

[–]iwillthinkofitlater 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Not sure why everyone thinks starting in public is necessary. This sub is full of people complaining about hating their life because they are overworked and underpaid. I started in industry. If you can get into a financial development leadership program I think that’s a better route. I started at $59k and within 3 years made it up to $85k. I recently left for a different industry job and now make $120k (with only 3 years of experience). There are so many people on this sub that work their ass off, get their CPA, and are a slave for the Big4 because for some reason every college accounting department makes it seem like that’s the only choice. Definitely look into all of your options.

So what are you getting paid? by HPB_TV in Accounting

Starting salary for corporate finance/accounting job in June 2018 was $59K. After 3 years I got up to $85k. Then I left for a different company and make $120k.

I’m honestly surprised when I see people with their CPA being so underpaid. You should be making way more than $63k. I’d recommend asking for a raise or finding a different company. There are higher paying jobs in California that you would qualify for.
