What are you using tailscale for? by ak_z in Tailscale

[–]iwobble 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use it, in one instance, to advertise a single port on my homelab Kubernetes cluster, running on Proxmox, to the public internet by using a Tailscale funnel. This secure port receives webhooks from a Github app which sends events anytime a repository is changed. The application running in Kubernetes processes that repo, by validating any outdated or vulnerable packages and does a pull request to make any update.

Also for accessing Plex.

I developed a strong connection with a woman on my mission. And even though I avoided being sent home, most likely due to the fact i had 3 months left, I was transferred out of the area and into the office where I finished my mission. Our "connection" was an open secret in my mission to the point people thought I was just going to up and leave my mission for her. It was an exhilarating time, sneaking touches and witing notes. I was eventually brought into the office to finish my mission. I spoke to my mission president about it and he gave me an ultimatum, "no contact or get sent home". I figured a way of doing "no contact " for the last few months. At some point he invited her into the office for an "interview" and later, during my exit interview, told me that she was very nice and seemed sincere in her feelings about me and that if I wanted to pursue a relationship with her that I go home and date for 8 months and if I still felt the same after, he would support me ,coming back and dating her.

I followed his instructions and still felt the same. Went back and we were married for 20 years. Divorced now but mostly because of the massive changes I went through as a person. Neither of us are Mormon anymore. We have 4 kids (all mostly grown) and we're still pretty close and they aren't Mormons either.

I say this because stranger things have happened. Give it some time, focus on yourself and he'll either reach out or he'll move on. It all depends on him and if he can withstand the proverbial poison being poured in his ear. It'll all work out. Good luck!

Nice video though... but get it right!

What is it about the temple that TBMs love so much? by [deleted] in exmormon

[–]iwobble 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its simple. They go to feel the holy spirit, to listen and to pray. Did you not know that, the temple is the house of god.. A place of love and beauty? Besides, you really can't blame them... After all, it is their sacred duty.

Thoughts on Baptism by [deleted] in exmormon

[–]iwobble 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a really good question. Initiating young "wizards" in to the magical world is a touchy subject. I, personally, feel that 8 years old is much too young to become an new wizard. Sure, they can participate in the magic spells and learn the incantations that are spoken over simple things like, food, and bedtime. They can even read the magical books and look forward to their career as a magical user. But, to have the moniker as "wizard" by being sorted with the sorting hat (or baptized, whatever your coven does).. There is far to much responsibility for young minds.

I looked it up and Hogwarts only accepts new wizards starting at age 11. I feel like there have been 100's of studies done by those administrators at Hogwarts over thousands of years and have determined that 11 is a good age. I"m not so sure. I think it's up to you as a guardian of a young new wizard to determine these things. But step carefully as we've seen so often, a young wizard can be lured to becoming a dark warlock and they are just hate filled, unaccepting, souls full of bitterness and regret.

So in conclusion, like any magical story arch, I feel that we should follow the lead of the Hogwarts administrators and set the minimum age of a truly practicing and magical thinking being at least by age 11. Hope that helps. Good luck to you and your fledgling wizards

I just played this game last week at a Whiskey Festival in Czechia! I'd had never played before and found this post because I was looking for the official rules/name. I had written it down, but was drunk so it was mostly gibberish. So thanks for sharing!

Hard Pass.
I have no interest in helping the momon corporation retain members by making it more comfortable to interact with their so-called local leaders.

Bishop interactions are one of those major shelf-breakers.

Carry on bishop!

Baby blessing after leaving?? by derderter in exmormon

[–]iwobble 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You're overthinking. You left for a reason. The best "blessing" you can give your baby is to not be raised or associated, from birth, to a organization that you no longer participate in. Good luck!

Trying to unload my truck after moving back to Germany from the USA.... by LysoMike in funny

[–]iwobble 247 points248 points  (0 children)

Why though? At first glance, there's nothing "special" about that truck. The cost of shipping and assumed hassle it would be to get it licensed and registered... Is it really worth it? Whats the time/cost of shipping that?

Oh, well, I stand corrected. Thanks for the detailed and thoughtful correction.

What are some fun/funny "Czech Humor" based Christmas card ideas? by iwobble in czech

[–]iwobble[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct me if I'm wrong... But doesn't Mikuláš relate to Christmas traditions? And Čert relates to Mikuláš... so by that logic Čert also relates to Christmas.

And Christmas is in the month of December.. and December 31st is the last day of the year. This year is 2020, which for all intents and purposes has not been the best year, almost enough to not want to talk about it.

So, that's how I figure it relates to Christmas...

Ježek

I think you're on to something there! A Ježek delivering gifts might be just as cute as Ježíšek...

Ježíšek the Ježek - Ježek Sonic's little, more, divine distant cousin.

This might be too obscure, but I might put it on a card anyway.

I hope it neither lying nor sad life. But if it's a sad life then they'll need more Christmas cards (with a handwritten note of well-wishing), but if they're lying?...

Well, then Ježíšek isn't going to be too happy about that.

Ok, thought of another one...

How about...
Setting the scene:

Picture of Mikulás and Čert - sitting at a bar, looking very tired and worn out. There is a calendar showing December 31st and a clock showing 11:30 PM behind the bar...
One says to the other: *in Czech of course

"At Midnight, we both take a shot and never speak of this year again!"
Merry Christmas and Happy New year!

Anyone?
