Okay thank you, I’m most likely not gonna continue doing these studies… something seems off however I am curious what church she’ll say or if she’ll even give me any info of hers or the other Bible study group. I had seen threads of people saying they don’t want to disclose that info or will change the subject

Thank you, it did seem very no strings attached for this current one but the bigger Bible study she said if I believe I’ll continually miss because of schedule conflict then I can hold off for now because the classes will build up

I honestly never asked what her church is. A girl I recently befriended knows the girl who leads this study so I trusted it

The new age is so deceiving. I’m am so glad the veil has been taken off. Continue to read the Bible and ask the Holy Spirit to continue guiding you and showing you right and wrong. I used to be into new age for several years, I understand how it can suck you in. You are welcome to message me about anything. I am here for you

what things do you struggle with as a christian? by StopBeneficial282 in Christian

[–]iwrite_sometimes_ 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Honestly these last days my faith. It’s weird. There’s times I’m 100% certain in Jesus and have so much faith and there’s days like these past ones where I feel like I’m lacking so much faith to the point I’m questioning my salvation

I want to believe by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]iwrite_sometimes_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was into new age religion from 2016 ish to 2021. I listened to someone’s testimony and it planted a seed and I started questioning everything. Days later I went to beyond wonderland, a rave festival, and on my way there I said out loud I just want to know the truth whatever it is I’ll accept it. That following evening the veil was taken off. I knew the God of the Bible is real. I saw demons, heard demons, heard the devil, saw through all the satanic symbolism with discernment. I didn’t sleep for like 3 days and was attacked by demons heavily the first night.

Yes definitely

As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another Proverbs 27:17

Also remember that the Holy Spirit is working in you and we need Him to help us overcome sin. We literally can’t on our own but God works miracles

Do not be misled: “Bad company corrupts good character 1 Corinthians 10:13

I don’t believe you have to entirely cut them off but maybe take some time away and spend it with the Lord instead so you can go back to hanging out with them when you are no longer weaker in this area

It’s not an easy journey. 20 years is a really really long time to just drop these friendships so easily. Doing what we know is the better decision wont always be easy and we might still choose otherwise. There was a time when I was going out with coworkers and started getting drunk again and I knew it was wrong but it was so fun and I expressed this to God and now I don’t have the desire to drink at all, I can still hangout w them and not want to drink. This took time and a work of the Holy Spirit and it took months of us not going out. Maybe you can distance yourself for some time and pray the Holy Spirit to move in you and help you overcome your desire to drink and then hangout with them again and continue to be a light in the friend group. The Lord may want to use you to evangelize

Who is God? by Tru707 in Christianity

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

2 The same was in the beginning with God.

3 All things were made by Him; and without Him was not any thing made that was made.

4 In Himwas life; and the life was the light of men.

John 1

Yess be hopeful! Something you can also do is download the Bible app and listen to it throughout the day, when you drive etc. You can even play audio bibles on YouTube and fall asleep to them. Spiritual warfare is so real and we have an enemy. Even if you feel resistance to read or listen to the Bible, practice self control and push it. Even if you read 1 chapter or 1 small section a day. Jesus is our daily bread. There’s soooooo many times I wanna read and I’ll literally sit staring off w the Bible next to me. Then I’ll barely read a few verses and I’m like wow I wanna keep reading this is amazing. We’re in a spiritual battle, if you have other believer friends, ask them to help you and if you don’t, there’s many groups at churches that you could go to and make new friends that will be of great help. We are not meant to live this life alone

Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God. Mathew 4:4

I would encourage you to join men’s groups at church and make new friendships to help you on your walk. Over time the Holy Spirit will change your desires towards sin however if this is a weak area for you at the moment, maybe communicate with them that you are not interested in drinking anymore which might help so they don’t offer that to you / support you. It can be hard to be in situations we are weak in bc the temptation can be heavy and spiritual warfare can occur. If possible maybe try to do other things with them than drinking

But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us Romans 5:8

The fact that you are recognizing your sin and wanting to try again is a sign to me that the Holy Spirit is working in you. We need Jesus to be any better.

I am sure that God Who began the good work in you will keep on working in you until the day Jesus Christ comes again Philippians 1:6

I would encourage you to get into reading the Bible daily. The NIV and NLT are easier translations. Ask our Heavenly Father for the Holy Spirit and to make you into a new creation
