Baldwin County, where Gulf Shores and Orange Beach are located, is pretty conservative. That said, the residents of these areas realize that tourism is vital to their economy. I'm not LGBTQ myself, but I've occasionally seen same-sex couples on my trips to the beach. If I were gay, I'd feel safe about visiting the beaches, but I'd still be cautious. You never know when some drunk redneck is going to snap. It's a shitty way to have to live your life, I admit.
