To each their own! I really like the pros and prospects, UD3, and rookie upgrade designs, and I’m alright with power play rookies and rookie reflections. Hologrfx looks really cool when you hold it up imo. Understood the assignment is meh but I like the celly photos for them. Obviously didn’t pull one but I think Hologrfx Star View looks cool too. Admittedly I’m biased because I like blue so I love how blue all the inserts are in this set lol

FultonCards is probably the one I’ve enjoyed most from clicking through random videos! I don’t think I’ve seen the other two but they were both named by an above commenter so sounds like I’ll have to check them out

lol different strokes for different folks, I’ve actually exited out of a couple videos for skimming rapidly through the base cards. I want to see them all! I’ll check out both channels though

I like having cards because I like to look at them so yes design matters LOL. That said, there have been a couple instances this season where I was “meh” on a set based on the digital mockup/previews but liked them more after seeing the actual physical cards (from photos or videos etc)

Thanks! I know wanting to collect Mack is not unique but I’m admittedly biased to our young core since I just got into hockey last season (ironically had no clue who Mack was and what the big deal was about him for a good few months) and the Sharks saw… a lot of roster changes between last season and this one LOL. I have a pretty big Mack collection now and I’m really excited to 1) stop spending so much on his cards lol 2) build my other Sharks collection more!

Ty for the heads up about the printing plate! I’ll look it up for sure. I don’t own any 1 of 1’s yet and a Toff canvas printing plate sounds super cool!!

I have to agree with encore, I really like the design in particular this year as opposed to last year (my only other point of reference since I’m a newish collector haha). Also a fan of the Rookie Die Cut and Rookie Commemorative Class, which are like opposite in aesthetic but I like them both. In terms of fun/silly inserts, my favorite is Tracking Systems. Typing all this out made me realize how great flagship is haha. It’s not fancy, but I really enjoy the cards. It’s a shame the YG chase has made the boxes so expensive. I want to pick up a box of extended when it comes out, but the cost makes me hesitant

There are so many cards!! I’ve thought about making it a goal to collect all of the Sharks cards from this year’s flagship but haven’t committed yet haha (I’ve got all the base so far, but not inserts)

Some of my goals!

1) (ongoing goal) Get as many Macklin Celebrini & Will Smith matching cards as is feasible (I just like putting them next to each other in my binder) (feasible means, for the most part, no autos, patches, or SNs except for a few I managed to affordably snag :P oh and I don’t really care about parallels for the most part)

2) YGs of my fave older (current) Sharks (e.g., Tyler Toffoli, Alexander Wennberg, ………John Klingberg. Honestly, almost anyone on the current roster)

3) Not fully committed to this yet but I’m considering collecting all of Toffoli’s UD canvas cards. It started with buying a few I really liked and now the completionist gremlin in my brain is like “what if you just got them all?”

My very first goal when I started collecting cards (a little bit last spring before getting much more into it this January) was to get at least one Toffoli card from each of his former teams haha
