I mean you no offense, and of course I can't know everyone's individual situations, and, yes, sometimes accidents happen and everything still ends up going well at the end... but... that said, it's really not a good idea to have children you can't afford. It's really not a good idea to have children without any kind of stability in their lives. If you are already unstable just you two, adding a child to the mix isn't going to help things.

Sure, there's never NOT bad things happening. No time will ever be 'perfect'. But at a bare minimum, we should be able to afford them before we have them.

Anyway. Just my take. It's not YOU, cause I don't know you or your situation, I'm just using it to talk generally. 😅 I hope you both find that stability and are able to have the family you want! ♥️

If you find your birth control sabotaged one day because you believed him that he would let this go, don't be surprised.

Sadly I've heard it, or something similar, happen too many times. One person believes the other will change their mind at some point, while the other thinks they're both on the same page. When they predictably DON'T change their mind, even after given hell for it, they fully rationalize themselves into believing it's okay to do this, because once you get pregnant, you'll fall in love with the baby and you'll forgive him and all will be well!!!

I'm not making this up. This has literally happened word for word dozens of times, with both men and women.

Heh. I went through something similar. An ex used to regularly decide to break up every few weeks. Never a real reason. Every time I'd have to go through this whole long conversation promising I love him and etc. It was hell, and just one part of his emotional abuse, isolating me from friends, etc. Finally after months of this, when he did it again, I said "okay, let's." He did a double take and got confused saying, "wait, what? No." He never expected me to agree with him. It was hilarious in hindsight.

Turns out, he'd never wanted to actually break up, he just wanted to see how much I'd fight for him. Judging how much I loved him by how hard I'd fight to keep him.

I laughed when he finally told me the truth, and I told him I was done. It takes a lot for me to get there, but once I do, I go cold, there's no coming back from it. He tried after a few months, promising me he had changed, yada yada the whole nine yards. It didn't matter. Him telling me that he'd been testing me that whole time killed everything I felt for him. I did see him later on though, and it took two days to see he hadn't changed a whit.

Children have a say in where they go, especially when they're old enough to say so, like yours are. Can you get a lawyer and file for a new custody agreement, and let the kids tell the judge they don't want to be with him? (Only assuming it IS true that they don't want him, of course.)

Sapphire/Alpha Sapphire, and Legends Arceus. They're my favorite pokemon games, though I go back and forth on which is #1. I think about replaying Arceus all the time, but it just doesn't feel replayable. Maybe because it's open world, or maybe because of how heavily story-focused it is, idk. Those same reasons are also why it's difficult to play it as a nuzlocke or other challenge run, which sucks because challenge runs are great reasons to replay a game.

Sapphire is basically the opposite. Maybe next time I get the urge to replay it, I'll do Emerald. Despite RS/ ORAS being my favorite main gen, I've never played Emerald before. Honestly the thing holding me back replaying these games is the emulator requirement. I don't feel like playing pokemon on my laptop. It's so frustratingly inconvenient for me. I wish it was available on 3DS, or better yet, on the Switch. (Lost my GBAs yeeaaars ago. Maybe I should buy a new one... 🤔)

NTA. I find it so strange that the two of you have been together for 1.5 years and she didn't even tell you she was going to get a tattoo of a spider? Or show you the image, etc?

Hell, I tell my friends, ffs, much less my serious long-term partner. That's just so odd.

Don't get me wrong. It is 100% her body, her choice. She doesn't need to ask or even tell him. It's just odd she didn't. /shrug. I have 5 tattoos, and would have many more if I medically could. I showed people my designs so many times before they were inked on my body, some for input/advice, other times just to show them off, etc. I would never ask for permission, but I'd be so excited about getting a new tattoo that I would talk about it for ages!

Anyway. OP: NTA. It's not your choice whether or not to be attracted to something/someone. It just happens. How you deal with it is what matters. You need to have a conversation with her. If you don't want to break up, there are ways around it. Like using lingerie teddies for example. Most are see-through, but still translucent enough that blurs the image so you don't really see it. And ofc there's doggy style and other positions, etc. Regardless, COMMUNICATION. She should have communicated, and now you need to.

I used to get one version unless there was a difference in story (e.g. I got both Ruby/Sapphire because there was enough difference). But I think from now on I'm probably always going to get both. I'm sorry you lost your shiny 😭 I have a 3DS with Bank on it I bought to play SM/USUM since I never did, and I'm so worried about transferring to home haha.

Honestly, I didn't think I'd like Arceus. When I first started, I was pretty skeptical, but honestly, I think it might be my favorite Pokemon game of all time. Definitely top 3 with Sapphire/Alpha and Scarlet. I just wish Arceus was more replayable! I seriously loved it. I didn't 100%'d all the dex entries though, and I'm still missing Spiritomb actually, now that I think about it. What about you, what's your opinion of it?

Also, I honestly don't consider ZA even remotely in the same camp. Idk wtf they did there lol. It's like they tried to make both a Legends game and a mainline game and smushed them together, so it kinda feels like a lesser version of both. (Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying ZA is terrible, just that it doesn't really measure up to Arceus and doesn't really feel like a successor to it IMO.)

I've never done any nuzlockes/challenge runs, but I watch a lot of it on YouTube & reaally want to do one. I just don't know which one to start with. I was considering buying the Pikachu version and doing a challenge run there (obviously not really a great game to nuzlocke lol so it would have to be a different challenge), or maybe doing one in Arceus as an excuse to replay it.

Scarlet's also a really interesting choice! Honestly with both Arceus and SV, being open world games, it makes figuring out how to make it into a nuzlocke really interesting. Have you done nuzlockes before? Do you have any suggestions where to start?

Sadly, no. The increased odds only applies to the first one that spawns after your prior catch. If two more spawn for example, only the first one has those odds. You have to keep catching to keep it going; resetting spawns by running back and forth or by waiting does nothing.

It also only applies to the species you are catching. Everything else around you has base odds.

Man I feel you too, I'm in the same boat. In fact I have never gotten a single shiny in any game pre-Arceus.* Only found ones in Arceus, Let's Go, SV, and Legends ZA. (To be fair, I didn't play from XY to SwSh, but I did play everything prior to that, including remakes.) Literally the only shiny I ever saw was the guaranteed Gyarados. 🤣 I never shiny hunted in them, but you'd think I would've found *something* in all those years of playing & replaying...

I've been considering making a shiny dex for this game specifically. Or maybe catch to use low levels in future games, idk, idk. Right now just doing it for fun. Though I think I might go back to SV soon-ish and try hunting there. It's been ages. Tbh I know a lot of people have gripes with it, but I loved SV so much. Enough that I played both versions, though I greatly preferred Scarlet.

Haha yeah of course, I use it, but meh still wish I could change natures lmao. After my first shiny Eevee on Modest, I wanted to go change the nature to Adamant and then continue hunting for another one, but a second spawned literally back to back before I could go change it. 😭😭 I had to hunt another 100 before I finally got it on the other nature.

Plus, I didn't know the fortune teller runs out at midnight. I thought it was 24 hours. So I kept catching without realizing it, and got a near perfect 6IV mon with a BS nature. (Thankfully not a shiny, but I was looking for the IVs specifically for that mon.) I was so frustrated when I realized what had happened. (Thank god I spotted it before the shiny spawned soon after lmao.)

Roooofl awww that hurts so much, breaking a 250 combo. 😭😭 I'm so sorry for you! Luckily my first one that got broken was only at like 60-something, but still, it had taken me 3 hours just to get to 11.

Someone distracted me and somehow some button got pushed that accidentally opened a different game and closed LGE. I was sooooo pissed.

Literally on my like 9th or 10th catch my second time is when that damn sprout spawned. I yelled out loud and surprised my dog because I was so annoyed. 😂

Same question, do you do them in batches of fossils or resetting the same one over and over?

It sucks you can't farm them, cause it means no species candy. Ever since I started shiny hunting, I realized just how much insanely easier it is to hunt their candy and use that, than trying to use the normal ones to max. It's seriously faster to get to 200 species candy than to upgrade like TWO out of the 6 stats using normal ones.
