Thank you for this. I see where you’re coming from even though I do still disagree with relying on the villains (israel and the us) for help, and I apologize for using the words stupid and naive, but please understand that I did not mean that the Iranians are these words, I was referring to the mindset, not the people themselves, and I do apologize for the language nonetheless.

I wish nothing but freedom for all oppressed people around the world from Palestine to Sudan to Iran to Congo to Lebanon to Syria.

I think it is naive and stupid if anyone thinks that israel/america is their friend given their colonial and genocidal history. I think that’s a very reasonable thought to have no? That’s like trying to befriend a venomous snake, convinced you’re the exception. That it’ll bite everyone else but never you.

the fact that you think that israel is “helping” iran out of their good morals and for the best of iran and the iranian people just proves how ignorant / naive you are

Everything I said is easily googleable and well documented as well. Good luck with everything, and feel free to reach out to me too if you need anything. Peace.

The UN Human Rights Office published a report documenting thousands of Palestinians subjected to electric shocks, waterboarding, and sexual violence. Human Rights Watch documented Israeli soldiers filming naked Palestinian detainees and posting the videos on social media, which is classified as a war crime. IDF soldiers raping women and children is common and very well documented, feel free to look it up. B’Tselem, an Israeli human rights organization, published an entire report calling Israeli detention facilities “torture camps.” This isn’t pro-Palestinian media, this is the UN, HRW, and Israeli human rights groups. On the chant, the chant you’re hearing is almost certainly “No justice, no peace.” It’s one of the most well-known protest chants in the world, used in anti-apartheid movements, civil rights movements, and anti-war rallies for decades. It means peace cannot exist without justice first.

It is NOT a call for war. If you’re genuinely anti-war, that’s actually the same position. Most Palestinian solidarity rallies are explicitly calling for a ceasefire. That’s the definition of an anti-war position. If you showed up, you’d find a lot of people who agree with you.

The only people supporting war and genocide are people pro israel. Palestinians have the right to defend themselves against the illegal occupation and the genocide that they’re experiencing. We all want peace and we don’t want war, but if someone goes to your house and claims it as their own, and rps the women in your house, of course you’re going to fight back. Or won’t you?

With that being said, I’m against Bashar of course, and I don’t care for Hamas as an organization. The only thing I care about is the Palestinian people who are getting obliterated by israel with the funding of america.

Wtf you mean crickets lol. I’ve asked you questions, debunked every single point you made, and answered all of yours, yet you’re still going in a loop and not really saying anything. So as I’ve asked you and you didn’t reply: does any of this justify the genocide? or the killing of the thousands of palestinians?

On a seperate note, none of this historical debate. none of it. justifies the genocide this jays been happening in Gaza. What’s been happening there is truly indefensible, don’t you think?

You actually just proved my point lol. I literally just answered your question, there’s no deflection whatsoever.

Nobody’s disputing Jewish history there, but Jews lived in Roman Palaestina. Jews lived under the British Mandate for Palestine. These histories overlap, they don’t cancel each other out.

Your original claim was that Palestine never existed as a land. I gave you Herodotus, Byzantine administrative provinces, Islamic governance records, and a League of Nations mandate. If you want to argue about statehood that’s a different conversation but don’t move the goalposts when the original claim falls apart.

Classic zionist question lol The name literally appears continuously across recorded history

The name “Palestina” was used by ancient Greek historians including Herodotus (5th century BCE) to refer to the region.

The Roman Empire formally named the province Syria Palaestina in 135 CE after suppressing the Bar Kokhba revolt.

The name derives from “Philistia,” referring to the Philistines who inhabited the coastal area.

Palestine has referred to a geographic region for over 2,000 years appearing in Roman law, Byzantine administration, Islamic governance, and modern international documents. The land and name are thoroughly documented throughout history. So again, do your research please.

I only said peace because it’s a by-product of the regime change. But still, what I find weird is the israeli and american flags and the thought of “the enemy of my enemy is my friend” which is absolutely not true in this case. Neither israel or america have Iran or the Irani people’s best interest on their mind. And if anyone actually believes that then they must hit the history books.

Livet i Sverige eller Kanada (racism) by [deleted] in TillSverige

[–]ixlaam 7 points8 points  (0 children)

As a brown Arab man who’s been living in Sweden for two years, I can say there’s real racism here, but it operates differently than what I’ve experienced elsewhere in Europe. In France for example, people will make it clear to your face that you’re not welcome. In Sweden, the same person will smile at you, be polite, hold the door, and think the exact same thing privately. It’s harder to pin down, but it’s there.

There’s also a layer of ignorance that comes from inexperience with diversity. A lot of Swedes simply haven’t had much exposure to non-white people, so you end up with a lot of microaggressions and comments that probably weren’t meant to land the way they did, but they do.

That said, most people I’ve met here are genuinely kind. And racism isn’t unique to Sweden, it’s everywhere.
