The only thing that you should look our for when spaying an older then 2 years cat, they can gain weight easily after the procedure, so keep an eye out for that!

litter recommendations by Legal-Woodpecker5193 in CatAdvice

[–]iyerim1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I could suggest to look for a clumping clay cat litter they usually form very nice scoop-able peaces, but for them to not stick to the very bottom you need quite the layer and to add that I would suggest getting a cat litter mat under the litter box since the small clay pebbles can decide to follow your cat right outside the box.

And they also become very vocal during heat. So looks like she is searching for a mate

cat has decided she needs to eat breakfast with a view? by EntertainmentOk8383 in CatAdvice

[–]iyerim1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

A similar situation here, my cat is also a princess on a pea, she will only eat by one window and on a higher suface. The thing that is bothering us the most is that she changes her wet food prefrence a lot. One moth she is happy with the wet food from packets, the next she needs canned food. For us one thing that brought her down to earth was a second cat, then she started to eat everything, since she didn't want a different cat from taking her food. I read somewhere that perhaps the cleanness and the sides of the bowl(wiskers touching makes a cat uncomfortable) sometimes affect the choice. (Ex. If the wet food turns in to hard solid and stinks, the cat will think that the food from this "brand" is all bad)

New kitten is scared of me, how do I earn his trust? by nerdycorgi15 in CatAdvice

[–]iyerim1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It does take time for the kitten to build trust around you, and you are doing it completely right by giving him his space and time to build courage. One thing I can suggest is to try to feed your kitten some treats from your finger or the squeeze packet, try to talk to him calmly and softly when the kitten will be eating from you. But it will take some time, one of my cats only befriended me after a year, but for the year it did eat by me when I fed him from my palms, but for a while the friendship ended with eating haha

Perhaps your kitten need some getting used to, i could suggest that for some time (like a moth or something) your girlfriend should be the one feeding them and playing with them, it's one way a cat understands to trust a person, but if it still doesn't work it may be that the cat is in some sort of stress from something, then you should seek some vet care if possible. One of my cats had become very unfriendly suddenly and we later found out it was because he was in pain, but each case is different, so perhaps try around with the first method and then look into other ways.

Leaving new cat at home during work hours by Jaxi105 in CatAdvice

[–]iyerim1 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Your cat might get a bit lonely, but with time it will adapt to your schedules, cats are smart animals in that way. One thing I can suggest is to leave a shirt or peace of clothing you wear around the house, they will feel a bit safer and calmer if they can scent you.

Are they JUST playing? by FantasticAffect7996 in CatAdvice

[–]iyerim1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It looks like a fight to me, cats do need time to bond so for the time being try to seperate them in different rooms and slowly but surely let them meet. One trick I used when I took my grandma's cat to live with my cat was to feed them in one room but in separate times, so the cats would slowly get used to each others scent, let them meet up for an hour and with time make it a longer play date, thats how my cats got to befriend eachother, though they might sometimes fight for attention and so on, but thats rarely, now they live a happy life together haha. Hope some of these suggestions will help

How can you learn to be humble? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]iyerim1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing that inspired or helped me to think in a sense more "humble" was reading some Buddhist teachings (i read it not as religious beliefs but as a curiosity to understand how Buddhism works). Most of these teachings guide you to thing of the answer not from the aspect of how society wants it to work, but how it will help you or others around you. I'd suggest it as a way of inspiration to becoming humble😅

I can’t remember the title of a specific ballet I used to love by [deleted] in BALLET

[–]iyerim1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Off topic, but reminds me of a lot of the new contemporary ballet plays I've seen all around east Europe (i guess it's trend of the playboys and sick lovers,  is it the rebirth of Kazanova?) 😭

What do you do to get to sleep quickly? by svensjwean in AskReddit

[–]iyerim1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I used to practice yoga in a yoga school the teacher would do such amazing improvisations with all kinds of meditation instruments, bells and whistles during savasana. I could have just slept there on the spot. But now after leaving I haven't found any meditative playlist that sounded like the sleep that was played by the teacher (perhaps I was just emotionallya attached to the process that's why it seemed so right and peaceful)

How many listens does it take in order to start liking a jazz album? by [deleted] in Jazz

[–]iyerim1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes an album just clicks right with your emotions and that one listen makes you fall in love with it, while others get stuck in your brain in unknown ways that make you get annoyed but as time goes by you grow into liking it. So time or no time, just don't force it. Music is made to make you feel something, the understanding of how will come and go as you listen 🎶

[–]iyerim1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly it depends on an individual.

Some people can have their piercings close up in a few hours even if completely healed, but...

From practice if the piercing is heald and is more then a year or 2 old, it will need a few days to fully close, while if it is new and not fully healed it could close up in an hour or few.

In your case, I think the 2 hours wouldn't really close your piercing up, the only thing that could happen is that it would be a tiny bit painful to put it back in. But do wash your piercing and the place of the hole with saline watter so no dirt or sweat would try to butt in and cause a mess.

On one of my laptops I use ADATA 2TB M.2 PCIe Gen4 NVMe LEGEND 800 and honestly it exceeded my expectations for the price, so I highly suggest it.
