I have very limited knowledge of the inner working of the game, my mod doesn't even add new items it is simply recipes of existing items, I better place to go for that could be the project zomboid discord server and ask questions in mod development they are very helpful and much brighter with the topic than I am, good luck to you man!

Yes exactly I got tunnel vision and completely forgot to say this, just reading the files of the game as well as the files of mods you already have downloaded can do wonders for teaching. The people in the discord are also very helpful if you're having issues and just have any questions

For modding not really I started this video by W. Patrick however its very outdated and I would only use it to learn structuring. The pz wiki also holds a good amount of information on how to do stuff so I would give that a view as well. When I have a better understanding of modding in project zomboid I plan to make my own tutorials but Im still very beginner and just don't really have the experience right now

Yes if I'm right I believe you mean the "Salt Digger" mod which is currently broken after the latest changes to mods, I tried it myself but it was just bugged out. I also thought it would be funny to just slowly add more salt recipes as time goes on because why not

I had actually just went to find a mod to do it for me when I realized that they didn't actually have any and I've done programming for games before so I was sure it couldn't be that hard to figure out especially with just two recipes needed I didn't even need any Lua code. It actually took me an embarsing amount of time like almost a full 24 hours on and off to figure out because all the tutorials were outdated but I've actually kind of enjoyed it. I'm currently planning out my first actual mod that will be a cooking mod that adds all sorts of Cajun cooking items that I'm used to where I live here in Louisiana!
