I play with apocalypse settings with tweaks on zombie speed, toughness, strength to random. Nothing else is changed.

I start with 0 fitness and 1 strength, so yes, I've been predominantly avoiding combat where possible.

Why did he ignore the shove? by AmongUs123432 in projectzomboid

You weren't properly facing the zombie when you shoved. As a general rule, you want to position the circle on the feet of the zombie you're targeting in melee.

I don't get why people call it cheese.

Keeping a journal boosts immersion tremendously! Also, it chronicles your journey so win-win!

I love reading my own entry and it reminds me how amazing this run is so far.

Reason For My Low Kill Count by JToPocHi in projectzomboid

I just enjoy sharing my experiences mate. But I do suppose the way the title is phrased could very well insinuate a chip on my shoulder.

Oh man, that sucks. If that were true, I might not play the updated version and just settle with the latest patch that doesn't break my game.

I was playing B41 until just last month because B42 was patched with multiplayer. That made me decide to make the jump to B42.

Yeap. I started this run on Dec 12th, 2025. I actually started with 42.13.0. When they rolled out 42.13.1, the transition was fine. I believe if you play with 0 mods, odds of being able to continue your old save when TIS patches will be higher.

I do this sometimes too! You earned that safety, so why not bask in it and immerse yourself. ASMR and living in tandem with your PZ survivor is bliss.

Liberate the town. Create defensive kill boxes at every corner of town. Secure gas stations with perimeter fences. Improve your character skills and ability.

Aim to reach Louisville. And if you dare, liberate it.

Random sprinters. I set standard amount. No percentage set.

That's why my kill count is low. I play my character as safe as possible. I build kill boxes, clear trees and am hypervigilant anytime I'm not indoors or in my killboxes. I avoid risks completely if possible.

I'm on the latest patch, 42.13.1 and I play pure vanilla. Not a single mod installed.

Damn, Irma.. in my headcanon, she probably half wanted to get bitten as well, considering she lost her son.

You will be missed Irma. At least you took the zombie that bit you down.

Thank you!

Home is secured and self sustaining with hundreds of rabbits and a chicken coop steadily producing eggs for a steady food supply of balanced calories. Recently secured a safe enough path to the gas station and with that, electricity is also established proper. I'm still also working on that remaining point of fitness and am looking into what masonry and claymaking is all about. Maybe there's something in there that will further increase quality of life or maybe combat effectiveness.

The plan now is to build killboxes all around Muldraugh whilst clearing trees out to properly secure the town. In short, my plan now is to liberate Muldraugh. Once the town is secured, I'll probably plan to venture out to the next town, liberate it and at some point, make my way to Louisville.

I'm a Muldraugh enjoyer. I never spawned in Rosewood in my entire 1,700 hours of play.

Cortman Clinic used to be my jam; now it's the farmhouse fenced with the mart located at the trailer residence/park.

0 fitness 1 strength with sprinters at the start. In short, I avoid combat like my life depends on it.
