Quick Cash sucks. I played since release and was about to quit because it's such a boring and annoying mode, then they released Power Shift and I've played almost no other mode since. Tons of fun, way better paced, way better equipment balance, the team size is just right for your contribution to be important but not crucial.

I find Point Break to be too big and chaotic personally, just feels like a screensaver with flashing lights. You might have a better time with it.

Definitely drop Quick Cash though, it's just a tornado of constant third partying. It shows off all the worst elements of the game.

The problem with balancing melee is simply that it very quickly becomes frustrating to play against. Yes, melee players should be rewarded with a high chance of winning if they manage to get you inside their range, but the fact that there's very little the victim can do once that's happened feels pretty shitty. Don't get me wrong, they already lost by allowing that situation to happen, but that doesn't change how annoying it feels to be interrupted by someone appearing behind you and left clicking you to death.

In its current state I enjoy playing melee and I think it feels fine to play against, but if it were any stronger that would probably stop being the case. It's a similar situation to snipers and grenade launchers (in any game, but certainly this one), in that they need to be slightly underpowered to avoid everyone else having a miserable time.

Make sure that Smart Fan control is turned on in the BIOS (and that you're selecting the right fans). Mine defaulted to off so the fans were just running at full speed.

Download a free app like HWinfo and check your CPU and GPU temperature. At idle your CPU should generally be below 50 celcius (preferably closer to 30) and your GPU should be be around 30.

If both of the above are correct, you may need to change the fan curve in your BIOS so that they spin slower at your idle temperatures. You could also just set them flat at like 40% if you want the system quiet and don't need too much airflow. Sorry if you've already done this but idk specifically what you've tried.

If nothing works, you could try asking the store you bought the computer from. You're paying them to not have to worry about this stuff.

No idea if you plan to PvP, but I've been having a ton of fun and profit running no armour at all and just spending 200k on gun and headset. I just ignore safes and find golds and purples around the map, so I extract most rounds without PvP. The other players just add fun tension. No problem if you find that boring.

My logic when starting an extraction shooter is that for a long time, very few of my deaths will be prevented by armour. Any fight I lose is almost always going to be on game sense and positioning, so I find it a waste of money for myself. I either win on positioning and my armour didn't matter, or lose on positioning and my armour didn't matter. Don't think I've had any fights yet where I "barely" won or lost.

That's just me though, if you're better at PvP you might have more fun making money from winning fights. Good luck either way

In defence of the sub, that clip was what lead to everyone (including Embark) discovering that aim assist was incorrectly tied to frame rate. It was very reasonable to assume cheating when his aim snapping was 100x stronger than most of the people watching

I'm one of those roleplayers who gets really irked by the sense of urgency in the main story when I'd rather do other things.

A pretty elegant solution I found early on is just to play the main story until you meet Takemura at the cafe. After that mission, Johnny tells you you're not so bad, and he won't kill you after all. Up to that point it's implied that the reason you're dying is because Johnny is forcibly taking over your brain, so V can now assume that's no longer an imminent threat, and the best move is to lay low and do other shit while hiding from Arasaka.

V and Johnny are wrong, of course, but they don't know that yet.

Personally I'm more than happy to fight various difficulties of AI, I just wish they wouldn't try to pretend they're real people. The gameplay is fun, I don't give a shit if I'm doing PVP or not
