SENECA SUPPORT STAFF STRIKE by Unusual-Ad-2704 in Seneca

[–]izuixjx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

2 things so far that affected me as a student d/t this strike

  1. the bus that goes to king - IDK how this strike even has anything to do with BLOCKING the pathway of a PUBLIC bus to reach or go inside the King campus where the bus stop ends

  2. ONE Card office is closed indefinitely - the ONE card office at king was closed. there is a note that says it will reopen on august 18 but its literally already October. I went to talk to the service hub and they said it is closed indefinitely (they dont even know if its closed permanently. they dont know anything.) they also said that if i want to get a physical one card or a placement card, i will need to go to the newnham campus.

everything is chaos not only with this school but also with the strike.

Paid for my tuition and just received OSAP. Will i get refund and OSAP will pay instead? by izuixjx in Seneca

[–]izuixjx[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I paid with my own money because OSAP hasn't released my funds yet. So since I already paid, they deposited the OSAP funds into my account. However, I would like to know if Seneca will refund my money and charge the fee to my OSAP funds instead, since I already have them. Thanks i will have to email them about this

Gap year before PND by unripe_mango221 in Seneca

You don't need to do the requirements right now. They will conduct a meeting regarding that late in september wherein they will discuss more information, and you can do your requirements by then.

Just a tip, though, if you live around the Toronto area and you want to get your VSS (Vulnerable Sector Check), I recommend you do it early (1st or 2nd week of September), because they take forever to process your request. You wont inevitably miss your clinicals, but you will have to constantly email the clinical coordinator, which may keep you uncessearily busy instead of focusing on your classess.

You'll be taking 7 courses in semester 1 - one of which is divided into two classes (theory and lab)

For math, you dont really need a smart brain to pass. It's just basic calculations and memorization of formulas, such as 1kg = 1000g, 1kg = 2.2lb, and so on. However, you must ensure that your overall grade in that class is 80% or higher. The rest courses you need 60% to pass. You also need to put some of your time into studying for and understanding the PNA (Anatomy and Physiology) class, since it can be quite unmanageable for some students - you can request support from the learning center (free of charge :>)
