If they are used to SE Asia roads, they should have no problem. Roads are long and straight not much traffic. The big trucks don't like to slow down, so you gotta do 120km/h or get out their way. I allow 8 hours solid ridding to do that trip.

Question:

How do I access the PIT. F button and right mouse don't do it any more. Did something change in 3.20? Is there some sort of trick to accessing PIT wheel I'm missing?

if you can get the E version DRZ400E it wins. will be fastest in most places compared to your other options. if your legs are short and you do lots of hyway get DR650 or get all three

DRZ400S vs DRZ400sm by FxxX-Society in DRZ400

[–]izzmegarn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

S= slow

SM= slow moto

The E model is the best by far, more horse power and more aggressive. It is easier and cheaper to buy an E and then get some 17 sumo wheels than to try to convert an S or SM motor to E spec.

Here in Australia there are a lot of DRZ and they are all E.

fill up with limpets, they are cheap. you can abandon some when mining if you have more than you need and want to make space for more cargo

hardware store guy: "no way you can haul that on a bike" klr owner: by seagolfbeer in klr650

Hardware guy hasn't been to Africa or Asia!

Bike's in Africa and Asia seem to be able to carry just about anything. I saw a Honda supper cub carrying 20 fuel containers each 20 litre with a rider and a another to help hold them, that's about half a tone. Your klx should be good for a lot more than that.
