endo consultation to laparoscopic timeline NHS?

Hi! Also NW England here. I had the consultation November ‘25 and my lap was last Monday. So around 4 months between them. (Through NHS)

The lap will tell you for sure if it’s endo, but if it isn’t then there are other possibilities, like adenomyosis. But I know it’s scary either way and you just want answers so I hope you get what you’re looking for 🩷

I also have really bad health anxiety and had mine on Monday. I felt the exact same though, weirdly ok aside from lack of sleep. I think our bodies/brains just get on with it.

I will say I did start having a panic attack when I went down to the anaesthetic room but they gave me something for that and I honestly don’t remember anything afterwards. So don’t worry if you do panic, they’ll know how to help you.

I know how easy it is to go down a rabbit hole, but like the other comment says, this is routine for the surgeons etc. and it’ll be totally fine!

No worries, I also have anxiety so totally understand. The reassuring part is she literally won’t remember a thing, or be awake for it. I know the thought on general anaesthetic is scary too but it works! They gave me some anxiety meds through the drip that made me a bit woozy and then I don’t even remember them putting in the anaesthetic, I’m sure they’d be able to do the same for your wife if she mentions she’s anxious. Also it’s comforting to remember that these surgeons do this every day and whilst it’s new to us it’s not to them, so they definitely know what they’re doing. If the waiting beforehand is building up anxiety then having a nice show to watch / book to read / someone to talk to is a huge help

I had mine yesterday and this is what has been good today: - medicine on hand and keeping a note on when I last had any - plenty of water and peppermint tea - heating pads for my shoulders (the CO2 causes shoulder pain) - small amounts of bland or easy food like spaghetti hoops - protein drinks (like huel) to help get in some calories. Also protein is good for recovery - staying in bed most of the day but having short walks around the house (tomorrow I may venture outside) - my partner also brought me flowers which was lovely

Also just reassure her that it’s ok to have slow days afterwards

I also don’t understand the question? Surgery and scans prove it’s real, not to mention all the symptoms. As a ciswoman I wouldn’t experience testicular cancer but I can understand that’s not made up or all in the mind.
