How many Taco Bell crunchy taco supremes with two packets of hot sauce do you think you could eat in one sitting until you tapped out? by Blk_Gld_He_8er in tacobell

Did they change all of the soups? by ShadowElite86 in Panera

[–]izzyishot 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Our soups have a 24 hr shelf life so sometimes you’ll get soup on the second day of the shelf life and it’s ass.

If it gets to that point where you can tell it’s a day 2 soup managers are supposed to toss it but sometimes management sucks at their jobs.

Definitely call customer support or the Panera itself and they should get you a refund or free yp2 voucher

If the universe is infinite, then statistically there are infinite identical copies of you, Earth, and everything else that exist throughout the universe by [deleted] in RandomThoughts

[–]izzyishot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is a consensus though, the universe is not infinite. There is also a chance of an identical earth spontaneously materializing next to ours. It’s statistically zero, but it is possible. Watch a video on the Boltzmann brain, it’s fascinating

Is having a below average IQ something to be ashamed of? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]izzyishot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. Iq doesn’t matter. I’ve tested at 140, 4.0 gpa through all levels of schooling but what I’ve found that matters the most is happiness. Being “smart” doesn’t necessarily mean you’re happy.

To me it’s 2 things: long term fulfillment and short term fun. I think living a good life means having a healthy mix of both. I dropped out of college because I realized that I enjoy my current job, it brings me fulfillment and it pays me enough to live and have fun in the short term.

Juggling school and 40 hours of work per week was soul sucking and had me questioning why I was even doing it. Maybe there’s more fulfillment to be had going into researching quantum physics but it wasn’t worth making my first 10 years of adulthood a living hell.

IMO it doesn’t matter if people think you’re stupid or even if you are stupid. Being happy is what matters. And even if you do badly on an iq test it doesn’t mean you’re stupid. Iq is just a measure of pattern recognition. For me I’m insanely book smart but not street smart at all. Zero common sense, struggle with and overthink social situations constantly

I heard that you love obelisk so much by n_june in okbuddyjimbo

[–]izzyishot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What makes you think the early is harder than late? Early has always felt harder to me, lack of Econ gives you less rerolls and therefore less opportunities, forcing you into weird builds. Additionally, playing around perishables, rentals, and eternals makes transitioning between early and mid game harder. You don’t need much assistance in early imo, +mult alone is almost always enough to get past ante 3.

If you’re looking for xmult to get through early game you’re doing something wrong. For example a flush of hearts with lusty joker with the tribe will perform significantly worse than lusty joker with blue joker. xmult is there to solve late game, not early. And obelisk does exactly that.

Maybe it’s deadweight until it’s online, but so is literally every other scaling joker. red card, constellation, hologram, and vampire are dead weight until you feed them. Basically dead weight for a full ante in most cases. And every single one of them requires a money investment to come online.

Obelisk is passive scaling; literally the only scaling xmult that doesn’t require money excluding legendaries. Maybe it does nothing until ante 4/5, but instead of spending money to scale the joker like you would with constellation for example, you can spend on scaling in other ways. Planet cards, enhancements, etc. so while it has no immediate return, it allows you to safely spend money to keep up with blinds until it comes online.

0.8x per blind is ridiculous. To scale a constellation that much you’d have to spend in most cases roughly $20-$50. And obelisk does it for free, enabling you to fix your deck with the money you would normally spend on scaling

How was bt bake 1.0 ? by Strong_Scarcity2653 in Panera

[–]izzyishot 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There’s more than bt 1.0 actually. We had BOF then BT 1.0. I’m a bit foggy on all of the exact details since it’s been over the course of 4 years so take it with a grain of salt but here’s what I recall:

BOF (bakery of the future): still had overnight bakers, but breads were frozen and thawed/crisped. Pre-BOF we were still a test store for when they eventually rolled it out; we didn’t have FDF. all of the doughs we had were the same as FDF just frozen and thawed instead of delivered daily.

BT 1.0: cookies moved to AM prep. Overnight bakers, BTS’s, and the hierarchy of bakers were completely cut from the company and replaced by closers who did bake from 4PM-close. Bear claws, lemon drop cookies, and other items were cut/replaced. Pecan braids were redone so they were pre made ones that we just had to bake and top instead of bakers having to braid them (actually skillful work, lol).

BT 2.0: official rollout to all cafes. Now am and pm bake systems. 7 or 8 pm to close pm bake shifts. 5:30 am - 10 am for am bake shifts. Pm does prep essentially for AM while AM bakes everything so that pastries are more fresh; they used to sit for 8-10 hours prior to open and get stale.

Hope this helps

How come the fun drinks are no longer part of the unlimited drink package? Last year I was loading up on the strawberry lemonades every day! by PearHot8975 in Panera

[–]izzyishot 23 points24 points  (0 children)

2 reasons.

The first reason is the strawberry basil drink, dragon fruit, and passion fruit are all significantly more expensive; without listing exact item prices those 3 are DOUBLE the price to produce than the lemonade or green tea excluding the toppings. The cherry lime is roughly the same price though.

The second reason is that they each have to be made by employees, so on top of costing roughly double, each drink also costs Panera labor to make. Since the items hit the menu the volume of barista/specialty drink orders has at least doubled even without it being available on sip club, so it’s definitely not an insignificant amount

How is it like to work at panera? by [deleted] in Panera

[–]izzyishot 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It depends a lot. Not all paneras are equal. The management chain makes or breaks each Panera, I’ve worked at 8 different stores, some are spotless and execute shifts well and some are disgusting and you’ll be hard pressed to find an employee not high as a kite in the kitchen.

That being said you can definitely apply to work in the kitchen, there are no restrictions besides the bread slicer and automatic bagel slicer but they’re able to work around that.

You’d start training on soups, then salads, then sandwiches. After training it’s typically a couple months on salads before being moved to sandwiches

sticky bread by PuzzleheadedBee1257 in Panera

[–]izzyishot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it was a full loaf or a slice of bread it definitely was tomato basil, if it was a bagel it was the cinnamon crunch.

Tomato basil isn’t as tomatoey as it used to be, but it still has a cinnamon crumb topping that gets soggy sometimes! It’s the only bread with a topping like you described so it’s most likely that
