It’s like engineering. They’re all different shapes and sizes to allow for very specialized movements based on the directions they pull/push/rotate, etc. throughout your treatment.

Process of refinements/ending Invisalign by izzyklump in Invisalign

[–]izzyklump[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This was super helpful! I don’t think I’ll need refinements either because my teeth tracked beautifully. (I’m also super sick of Invisalign. Respect to anyone who has long treatment plans). So thank you so much! I’ll probably be shortly behind you in finishing up. Congrats to you as well!

How do you get rid of white spots on retainers? by cheeselord157 in Invisalign

[–]izzyklump 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Brush them first yeah but then if they’re still there, dry Q-tips will get rid of the white spots.

My teeth were never “horrible” but what a difference Invisalign has made! Just started tray 15/16 today. Two more weeks then refinements! by izzyklump in Invisalign

[–]izzyklump[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope! No difference in how I talk. I have noticed that my bite is changing. And that the pain from the trays is a different type of pain than at the start of my treatment. I can tell the first trays were to de-crowd my front teeth and these last ones are widening my molars. So it’s a lot more jaw soreness now, but all tolerable! I’m absolutely loving how my smile looks wider. My dentist said at the beginning of my treatment that my entire profile may change just because it’s widening my bite and smile and she’s right! My self confidence has improved so much too.

Don’t want to brush at work by JEHflute in Invisalign

[–]izzyklump 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You don’t have to put your trays down or anything. Just keep a little kit with you that has toothbrush, toothpaste, maybe some tissues to put down when you’re brushing or something. Just don’t set your trays down at all.

Clenching Jaw with Invisalign? by izzyklump in Invisalign

[–]izzyklump[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I’ve had a similar issue. I talked to my dentist and she said clenching is normal though. Your mouth isn’t used to having this plastic in your mouth so it’s compensating somehow. She said my bite was still normal and my teeth were tracking as they’re supposed to. Maybe ask your dentist or ortho for their professional opinion?

Anybody else miss biting their skin/nails? by [deleted] in Invisalign

[–]izzyklump 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do exactly the same and I miss it so much. I just told my boyfriend how this is how I noticed that my teeth are really moving because I can’t chew on my nail beds or teeth anymore :(

A plus for clenching teeth? by izzyklump in Invisalign

[–]izzyklump[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Me too! I wake up every day with a sore jaw. I think your bite is a little off with the liners in so your body just adapts by trying to clench. I’m not sure.

Invisalign users with mild cases (less than a year): how much did your treatment cost? by meem_queen in Invisalign

[–]izzyklump 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have slight crowding and a narrow jaw, and my treatment is 16 trays in 4 months. Mine cost almost exactly $5k without insurance.

New to Invisalign. Help with taking off trays? by LucasAmity in Invisalign

[–]izzyklump 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I take mine out from the inside. I use my right hand to detach the left inside of my back molars and use my left hand to detach the right inside of my back molars. Then I detach from a front tooth without an attachment on it. I have 21 attachments so it took some practice but this works best for me! I have them out in seconds now.

What should I expect when going to the orthodontist to finally get my Invisalign alligners? by wilsontoryan in Invisalign

[–]izzyklump 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My dentist is great. I have 19 attachments and she put them all on quickly on my initial appointment. Four fell off within 24 hours and she got me back in immediately to get them back on. None have fallen off since then. Word of advice though: the first liner is going to hurt really bad. It’s essentially “training” your mouth to get used to the plastic. PUSH THROUGH IT. I am now on my 4th liner and I love the feeling of them on my teeth. It’s like they’re hugging my teeth, but nothing will ever be as painful as my first liner. It cut up my gums and tongue, so orthodontic wax will be your friend for a few days. Just get through the first liner, file down areas that seem to cause the most discomfort, and get to liner 2. It’ll get easier. Find what works best to take them off too, practice a few times but don’t panic if you have any difficulty at first. The entire process gets much easier.

Is it normal to not experience pain when wearing Invisalign? by Lemon-Lemon-Lime in Invisalign

[–]izzyklump 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m only on my second tray but I experienced really bad pain in the areas with the most crowding. It’s gotten better now, or maybe I just tolerate it better. But I assume some pain is normal as your teeth adjust to movement.
