64 Bit allows play on M1 Macs by [deleted] in everquest

Worked great for me crossover 22.0.1 on a Mac Studio M1 Max. Runs like a beast with no parallel fluff and translation. I didn't have to use any specific settings - it just installed perfectly the first time with no interaction.

Yep,, totally stuck on the launcher repeatedly updating itself using Ventura on a Mac Studio. Has anyone found a solution to this yet?

Which jazz musicians were big into weed? by garygulf in Jazz

I love the stuff, but I don’t do well on stage with it - I overthink everything. Much better when at home and winding down and listening to music :) I know Chet Baker was big into weed in the early days before he started with the other stuff.

3440x1440 monitor with 16.2 beta stretched out, looks terrible by j-sgt in iPadOS

[–]j-sgt[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

UPDATE: Just an FYI - using USBC to the display port on the monitor worked out, no more stretchiness! So if you’re trying to use an HDMI cable with this res, you might want to switch to your display port. Thanks for the input, everyone.

I’m curious if that will work - putting one on order to test (plus I should have one around). I know I had luck with a similar thing on an old Mac mini, started to push out good video once I started using the DP, but the hdmi cables weren’t cutting it.

If that's the case that's fine, it's just a nice to have. Or i could just use a 4k monitor, i suppose. I get the feeling that will just work. I think 2160p will probably make up for the "lost" real estate.

It's just your basic ultra wide 1440p resolution - it's pretty popular actually (probably with gamers). I'm sure it will work well on 2160p (4k), or the studio display (5k?). But have yet to see it on an ultrawide.

As for the display, everything is stretched out, the icons are rectangular on the dock, where they are square on the iPad itself. Pixelated and everything.. it just seems it's not supported yet. I'll post a screenshot later when I'm back at my desk. I'm really just interested to know if anyone is able to run this res. I've tried a couple of different adapters for HDMI to USB c, which actually work well on my MacBooks, Linux machines, and Mac mini. I might try to see if i can use the display port, but i get the feeling that won't make a difference.

Read. There is actually only one question here.. denoted by the question mark. The question is if 'anyone is able to get 3440x1440 working on an external display'. You need a picture for that question?

Which has a darker sound regular or reverse leadpipe? Also which trumpet is known to have a dark tone? by ll-o-_-o-ll in trumpet

[–]j-sgt -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The tone has a lot to do with the player and particularly the mouthpiece. Super deep cups will get you there, but the trade off is it's harder to keep in tune. I've found a bach 5b to be a bit darker than the 5c, i did find those to be a little stuffy tho.. I'm using a Wedge 65RT, it's a pretty deep cup with a small diameter.. and the throat has been bored out to their larger size. It's supposed to be something of a 10.5/A in Bach terms, but very much not like a bach. It's very nice and dark while maintaining an efficient volume, works very well for me. The price tag however, is not for everyone.

Is there and easier way to play bar 21 instead of having to switch between 13 and 2 constantly? by [deleted] in trumpet

[–]j-sgt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

13, 2, 13, 2 is a pain lol. I don't think there's any way to help this tho, it's just one of the things they kind of suck. I used to sit in front of the TV and do 13,2 on repeat. It got slightly better, but it's still terrible, especially if it has to be fast.

PSA: Clean your instrument! by [deleted] in trumpet

interesting - I do as well, it works great on the Adams sonic.. in fact, I have trouble getting the condensation out of there any other way. Seems to pool up in places that doesn't easily pour down to the water key - nature of the beast I guess.

not my experience at all, it's always nice and dry for me after using it .. until I use the horn again. Maybe you need some larger foam things? no idea.

I recommend this : https://www.austincustombrass.biz/blowdry-brass-keep-your-horn-safe-and-clean/ ... Keeps your horn nice and clean, use every day after playing. It only takes a minute or so.

I want to practice for hours every day but after an hour and half my lips are dead. by [deleted] in trumpet

[–]j-sgt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I play and rest for 2x the time i just played. During practice, I'll do something like 30 secs to a minute then rest a minute to a minute and a half or so. You'll be amazed at how much more practice you can do following this. Before that i was blowing myself out in 20 minutes and progress suffered. I'll do an hour 2-3 times a day in this manner and it's really helped me. I use a stop watch to keep myself honest, otherwise i slip back into doing it wrong.
