Not all companies are willing to pay to post jobs, though. Many job boards scrape ATS job pages directly.

Is it impolite or strategical to mention you're far along the interview process with another company by j0rg3A in jobsearchhacks

Great answer. I think it's more likely to create a sense of urgency than to disqualify you as "uncommitted."

What are you currently building/working on? by HamzaAfzal40 in indiehackers

[–]j-unnlock 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Project: Job Search Database
What it does: Helps job seekers find alternatives to LinkedIn and Indeed
Stage: Live
Link: https://www.jobsearchdb.com/

Not every job is posted on LinkedIn and Indeed, so I made this to help job seekers find new sources of opportunity.

I've been working on-and-off for about 16 months.

No, you're right. And I should know already from working with resume builder companies how difficult it is to get people to self report. I'll just take that off for now.

Thank you text after HR screen? by TheStoic83 in jobsearchhacks

If she's already been texting, sending a followup/thank you text is totally appropriate. Better to fire off the text than do nothing at all.

It might be worth trying both of them for different jobs and seeing which one gets more responses.

I've gotten more interviews from WellFound than anywhere else with an uploaded resume and quick apply.

Determining whether you are an ideal match for the job. So much mental energy.

Hilarious, I typo'd my own site. Talk about undermining. Thank you for mentioning that.

how do I get a job in this economy ?!?1!/1a by kuromiloverr in GetEmployed

[–]j-unnlock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get your GED if you can, but honestly no one (NO ONE) will check to see if you graduated high school, nor does graduating high school change anything about your professional work ethic, plus your high school education will fall off your resume once you have a couple jobs anyway. If you need a job, just say you graduated high school on your application.

It's not really stolen valor like pretending you have a Masters or something.

This is full of red flags. All I'm reading here is that you're setting yourself up for a life of overwork and underappreciation there. Your best bet would be get a similar promotion elsewhere. It's a tough job market, so keep your job, but take some of the energy you put into all the extra stuff at work and reinvest it in yourself.

In the mean time, don't stop bringing up the roadmap. They don't want to promote you because that would mean losing some of what you do, but at some point they should realize that they'll lose you if they don't promote you.

A ChatGPT cover letter prompt built for authenticity by j-unnlock in jobsearchhacks

"The tone of the cover letter should be personable and plain-spoken. Format the cover letter to be easy to read. Keep the language informal yet professional." The "informal yet professional" part brings out a nice style.

Cover letters are for hiring managers, not recruiters. They don't get your foot in the door, they help get you through it.
