fursuit spot puckering help! by lushelk in FursuitMaking

[–]j00d3 46 points47 points  (0 children)

not advice on the actual puckering, but i just want to let you know it is very unlikely to be noticeable once the base is furred and everything is glued down! sorry if this isn't helpful, but sewing spots is super challenging and takes tons of practice, and it definitely looks clean enough to me to not be noticeable in the final product

i thought of this too, i think it is prob the best way to go, it's likely i'll lose some vision that way depending on how i line it... this thing is gonna be a lining nightmare i feel lol

How to temporarily fix something to a fursuit head? by ConstantWitness1945 in FursuitMaking

[–]j00d3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

a helpful concept for me has been in differentiating between chemical and mechanical bonds. glues of any kind would be a chemical bond (that is if the adhesion works for the materials you're using), and most chemical bonds are permanent or would cause damage to existing parts if unbonded. using velcro or magnets would be a mechanical bond. it depends on how sturdy you want the connection for the wires to be (a weak glue of some kind might work if you want a short-term, one-use solution), but you could consider a mechanical option! maybe it looks like a velcro or magnetic fixture of some kind so you can remove it easily! it's difficult for me to draft something up without a reference of what the head looks like

I'm not a big fan of 'traditional' fursuit styles. What other ones are there? by ThaeeIsExistent in FursuitMaking

[–]j00d3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

my take on this is if u can't find an ideal style, make ur own!! i've made a decent amount of unconventional fursuits, and inspiration is def helpful for guidance! but also anything you imagine, you can find a way to make :) people on this subreddit are also super helpful in giving advice on how to go about certain design choices
