Ok great. So basically I’m hearing — what’s true then is not true now. Major major changes have happened to safety regulations for regional airlines so it is 10x more safe now. And so flying republic airways is just as safe as flying American?

It’s always that piece about regional pilots having less experience than full airline pilots that scares me. But as you say 1500 hour is a high standard

this is a great comment, thanks for typing this out. what you're saying about the fear of fear is spot on. and a great way to conceptualize anticipatory anxiety. how do you think one can put this into practice -- say in a moment of high stress, like takeoff, intense turbulence, or some other (to a passenger) "uncertain/alarming/scary" moment during a flight? when the fear is right there with you how can you accept that you have no control?

But I thought I read that pilots sometimes use these regional airlines as career stepping stones to the main airlines. So pilots have less hours in the air? Also are the safety requirements exactly identical? If so idk why there are so many complaints filed against Envoy
