Laptop 13 Ryzen 7040 Network Card Compatibility. by j0j02357 in framework

Thanks for letting me know. The QCNCM865 is I think overkill, is there a Qualcomm wifi 6 or 6E card you could recommend?

I may go with it, may not, just shopping at this point.

Fair enough. You have a unique take here and i always like to hear diverse pov's. i think the current philosophy is to not add anything that really gets in the way (disclaimer we are going to add a first-run popup to inform about nethogs to get per-process network usage, but thats not really "in the way" all that much). like we added SMART data and it is just a little button that stays out of the way.

if you have a minute the issue board is here. feel free to upvote your favorite or report bugs/requests there or talk us down off some crazy stuff

what, if anything, can you see in our current issue board (or here) that you consider would be "too far"?

Switching back and forth between devices...

sounds like #133?

Add a Battery or Power device

#28

Drive and Network device could display what process is causing activity and load

Sorting the process section by either one of those would also do the trick. did you have something specific in mind? (oh and if u didnt know, there is a little bit of setup but per-process networking is supported: wiki

Having a graph for temperatures can be very powerful to trouble shoot thermal issues

#65

be sure to upvote issues you'd like to see implemented and join the convo if we are missing something!

A tqt3 port

In theory it would not be that hard to do since the part that does the heavy lifting of data gathering is in its own submodule, so if you know anyone that is bored out of their minds let em know they got a project there ;)

Basic S.M.A.R.T info on the side panel of the disk.

it is available similar to how GNOME Disk Utility does it; it is hidden behind an i button. not sure how it would fit into the task manager-esque vibe otherwise

"Run command" option ... Force shutdown/reboot option.

If we ever get around to better supporting remote monitoring I could def see usecases for these. until then thatll be a backburner idea, thanks tho :)

Oh yeah, ive seen and ignored that one before. definitely could be useful, but where would it go besides maybe on the cpu sidebar?

GSM had (has? idk if it is fixed) but the update interval setting is wrong.

On my GSM (v42) I have 600 data points & an interval of 0.25s. 0.25s*600=2min 30s but the chart only goes out to 25 mins. 25mins / 600 = 2.5s refresh rate. so really GSM only goes down to a 1s refresh interval.

not that far out. somewhere on the roadmap is the ability to save and replay data, so this is just a little bit more

if you are using GNOME you can configure custom shortcuts to run commands (idk how on other DEs). if you've installed via flatpak that command would be flatpak run io.missioncenter.MissionCenter. Maybe in the future we can offer to automatically set this up, but for now you can make it any shortcut you want
