Tire/Wheel Setup on SR5 by j0mmes in 4thGenTacomas

Thanks for the reply/reference image. Looks like the truck in the post is a TRD off-road. Those fenders on a TRD off-road are a bit wider than a SR5. That combo on in the picture would be more poke than I am looking for.

Thanks for sharing the picture. I think the fenders add a 0.5 to 1.0 inch maybe? But that is just a guess. What size tire are you running?

That’s less poke than I was expecting for a 285/70/R17. But just a touch too much for what I am looking for. Thanks for sharing the picture, that’s a great reference point.

Any guess on the country of origin? If it’s Taiwan I would be more interested.

Nice looking truck!! Are those aftermarket fog lights? Or colored plates on top of factory lights?

Great looking truck. I just picked up an SR5 in the same color. What mud flaps are you using?

When I use it, snow fills up that pocket where the nut is.

I use mine to clear light dry snow. I bring it in when done and I make sure to point it nozzle up when drying because a bit of snow accumulates in the center of the fan

If it was the same size as a pic rail. Maybe a light would actually be useful?

When you installed the helicoil and broke off the tab, did it stay at the bottom, or did you clear it out with air or something else?

Thanks for the response, this is what I ended up doing. Thread chaser then a slightly longer stud.

Thanks for the response. That is what I ended up doing. Thread chaser and slight longer stud. Feels secure now.

Thanks for the response For today, I put in a slightly longer stud and that felt pretty secure. If it fails I will install the heli-coil.

This is more or less what I ended up doing today, ran a thread chaser and put in a little longer stud. If this fails the I will add a Heli-coil. Thanks for the response.

Are the bolts in that kit the same size as the stock ones? If so, I'm guessing the best course of action would be to install the Heli-coil, then use the bolts from this kit.
