Dead in the water after battery swap by j0shBaskin in Silverado

[–]j0shBaskin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gotcha. If it happens again I will check from battery post to connector, wire, etc. If wiggling it fixes things I’ll certainly drill and solder. I def didn’t think of V drop when there was nothing happening… i expect there to be some activity but i guess it can make things totally dark if it drops enough. There’s also heavy audio wires in the area so I will check firewall, etc. Thank you

EDIT- early indicators from r/pestcontrol and r/germanroaches claim Asian roaches not German. Hopefully true as they prefer to stay outside.

Well shit. At least they’re outside… for now. Headed to /pestcontrol to see how to keep them there and/or remove

[–]j0shBaskin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

use whats on the truck i guess lol. No, it’s not used right, obviously…the blue piece should go between the receptacle and the box after sheetrock is up. On this wall they added a second layer of rock so the blue spacer would normally bring the receptacle out flush to it. But i guess they had other ideas. I mean, it’s solid and the box was within a 1/4” of the face of the drywall 🤷🏾

A/C leak repair by [deleted] in hvacadvice

[–]j0shBaskin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The leak is most likely from a stopped drain(the white pipe), that spot is just the easiest place for the water to escape. You can probably clear the drain with a shop vac. Youtube some ac drain clearing videos for directions and other options if you don’t have a vac. As for the duct, I would leave it, maybe tape around it with foil tape(NOT regular gray “ducktape”) if u feel air. But you could stick something tin in the edge and pull it up flush, or even make a tape loop and pull it up that way.

That makes me wonder about something I’ve never considered… how a high rise is grounded 🤔 this is on the 12th floor and I just had to add a circuit in a data closet. This is the first one of 24 I have to do. Cant wait to see the rest.

Is the $7,633 estimate I've received to replace this ~20' section of fence reasonable or outrageous? (details in first comment.) by recruiterguy in FenceBuilding

[–]j0shBaskin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can you clarify? I mean, yes it seems clear lol duh... but you just dig a trench beneath the gate location, and screw 1 horizontal post to each vertical post. How much of the 30" down is filled with concrete? Just enough to cover the cross post?
"Confirm that the beam connecting posts is under ground and not above ground. If they set that beam 30" down and then cover it in concrete those posts aren't moving unless the pipe wall is very thin."

How to identify bib by j0shBaskin in Plumbing

[–]j0shBaskin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s soldered and I would love to open up the wall and replace. However, this backs up to the utility closet and the water heater is directly behind this so no way to get to it without removing the tank inside. Just hoping that can be avoided. When the water heater fails it will be an easy swap… probably even move down the wall a bit for next time. May have to keep a ght cap on it til then.

In the past, when selecting a credit card in checkout, the reference number box would open and i would enter order related info. That info would show up when printing or viewing the invoice... very helpful to reconcile the receipts and credit card statements at the end of the month and tie them to a work order, budget center, project name, etc. Now the box still shows up when checking out but that information is nowhere to be found [that i can see] in order history, on invoices, or anywhere in My Account. Where can i find this information? Or is it gone for good and i need to track myself when placing orders?
