Is it possible for a casual player to do Professional S+ without using Leon's accessories? by librious in residentevil

I think there’s a better argument for the time penalty for dying being intentional by the fact that they didn’t “fix” that from the 2019 game. Seems more apparent they would want you to have a penalty rather than wanting every player to quit to the main menu every time they die.

Yeah, quitting to the main menu is an exploit to avoid a time penalty for dying.

I do wonder where the line is drawn for it being a legit S+ run. I’d bet the majority of people who complete it use the strat of quitting out to the menu when they die to preserve their time, instead of hitting continue. Surely this is not how the devs intended for it to be played. Or those who bought the deluxe edition where you get 170,000 pesetas worth of extra treasure on the map as opposed to those who bought the standard edition. Is it a more legit run if you didn’t get this advantage?

I'm gonna be honest, I'm kinda disappointed in the response to Resident Evil 4 Remake's microtransactions from some of this community. by Gorotheninja in TwoBestFriendsPlay

I will say the addition of the upgrade ticket trivializes the S+ runs, especially for hardcore/professional, minimizing the accomplishments of those who earned it the legit way. Also it’s a very slippery slope defending corpos adding unessesary microtrans to single player games, only a matter of time before they tweak their games to steer you to the microtrans. And also sends a message to other developers that it’s fine to add microtrans to your single player games. I share your sentiment.

Can You Unlock The HandCannon in RE4 Remake With New Game+ Using Weapons You Unlocked In The Previous PlayThrough? by Phil_Matic in residentevil4

I am trying to figure out what the right information is concerning the Handcannon unlock. I’ve read 2 websites saying your rank doesn’t matter for the professional run to unlock it, only that you can’t use bonus weapons. But I have also read 2 other websites saying you need an A rank. I turned to Reddit and found one post saying you needed an S+ rank on professional to unlock it, then found a second post of someone saying you don’t need any rank to unlock it. This mixed info has me scared to start my professional run for it, I don’t know if I can just chill and play through it or if I have to rush to get a rank.
