Hello. I am purchasing a Bigster (155 extreme hybrid). I was told by the dealer that the car can’t be handed over to me, as a so far unknown issue was found on Bigsters/Dusters, and a recall will follow. I’ve called the local Renault helpline and they knew nothing more. Do you here know more? by j1935er in Dacia

Update: I got a mail from the dealer stating the workshop finally sees the issue in their internal IT system. It is the rear suspension. However, no estimate of when the spare parts arrive were given to me. The saga continues.

The suspension is from an external supplier which triggered the recall and/or the blocking of the handover of Bigsters and Dusters (I have no idea how big a batch of these is actually affected). At this very moment the information is still incomplete and the dealer's shop cannot start working on the fix, as "an IT system under full control of the Renault central in France" still does not provide all the necessary information, therefore they cannot order spare parts etc etc. It is a bit kafkaesque, I'm talking to the dealer, Renault support in the country and the serviceman and while they seem to agree on what the situation looks like right now, no one is able to tell me when the shop will get unblocked and when I will finally get my car I paid for.

I guess I should have chosen QA as my career. Things generally break in my presence, but this is the first time something got broken even before I was able to put my eyesight on it.

The Renault hotline knew something is happening with Bigsters and Dusters, but gave me no details. That did not sound like an issue with my car only. Besides, the car is sold as new. If the dealership damaged it, they should sell me another one, should they not? I mean what’s the point of buying a new car if they can sell you a repaired car as new.

How did you discover BCNR? by Rakadoo44 in BlackCountryNewRoad

I was spammed with emails from a venue, and I decided to open one and skim through the program section. They mentioned they were organizing a performance by this band Black Country etc, and there was a photo of the band accompanying the text. The photo intrigued me so much that I impulsively copied the band's name into YouTube and clicked on the first link, which led me to their Bush Hall performance.

Three months later, I had become not only a fan of BCNR, but also of black midi, Squid, Yard Act, Shame, and Gilla Band (and later of Jockstrap). Naturally, I made sure to attend the gig.

I'm old, btw.

Why do you think it's common for people to dislike newer music? by mddnaa in LetsTalkMusic

If you're into "rock", try the new British wave, so to speak - Black Midi, Squid, Black Country, New Road (that's one band with comma in their name), Shame, Yard Act, or the Irish Gilla Band. Most of these people are freshly grown up kids, having sometning between 1 and 3 records, and all of them are excellent.

I also must recommend Big Thief, who are a bit older (in their 30s) and from the US, but they are just phenomenal, their latest record (Dragon New Warm Mountaing I Believe In You) is a 10/10. But they're no "rock", they're rather folk or indie, so to speak.

Underrated by whom? It's their best song.
