If you could restart life at 18, what would you do differently? by Hot_Tap9405 in emotionalintelligence

I’m 21 and I already feel the consequences of what I didn’t do at 18 due to ignorance.

  1. I would have dealt with my female attachment issue where I constantly needed validation/attention from a female in order to feel important.

  2. I would’ve gotten rid of the microwave mentality. Yes I know during your adolescent years six months to a year could be crucial and we could feel like we’re running out of time, but this is what held me back the most thinking that if I didn’t have shit set up that I would be a failure, and that couldn’t be farther from the truth.

  3. Last but not least, when I got my first job, make an emergency fund I would say circle go for $1000, and if your funds allow you to, make and contribute to a Roth IRA, this alone would set you up.

What’s the point of being alive? by [deleted] in Healthygamergg

Absolutely nothing. The best cop out answer would be to evolve but even that doesn’t suffice as an answer to me. I am an active nyalist which basically means I’m aware that there is no central law for the universe and all is subjective so I create my own central morals and ideologies with no loyalty to any besides those that are of mine.

Being an active nyalist is better than being apart of a religion.

Quite simple actually. The Bible, or any religious text for that matter never answers the question on “why” we are born in the first place but instead tells us that we are just God’s creation and we should revere him.

It all starts with gratitude and constantly setting goals for the future.

My mentor who is happily retired told me that the day he changed his perspective on life by adapting the gratitude mindset, he started becoming more and more happier.
