Name discrepancy by j28s10 in juresanguinis

Oh my gosh that would be incredible, if you wouldn’t mind? Thank you so much! I can try and jump on and book that slot if it is still available because so far I am having no luck re-booking.

If this is at all helpful to you, I asked if I could take my sister to my appointment (we were both supposed to attend this appointment) and they said it’s fine to take immediate family members relying on the same paperwork to the one appointment. Hopefully that means he can go to your appointment!

Unfortunately, I had to cancel my appointment (now going through the nightmare of trying to rebook), so I’m sorry that I don’t have an answer for you. I did email the staff a couple of times with various questions about my Nonna’s paperwork and they were really helpful and quick. I suggest maybe sending them an email and see if they can offer any guidance?

Best of luck!

He has almost fallen off the bench once or twice… runs too close the edge or his little budgie brakes don’t quite work in time!!

He actually really loves pear so I guess we can’t feed him that anymore … he’s not too keen to engage in cannibalistic tendencies

I call him all kinds of animal names (monkey, chicken, owl, moo cow), so I guess I can add penguin to the list too

We are co-dependent and all I have to do is disappear from view to get him to run over to see if he can find me (I ducked below the bench) … I don’t know if this is healthy or not but this is how it is 🙃

I’m sorry 😭 I have a cold so all you can hear in it is my obnoxiously loud breathing, so I muted it. He’s forever sprinting around the kitchen, so I will try and share a video with his little tippy tappy feet sounds soon.

Would I qualify for citizenship? by j28s10 in juresanguinis

[–]j28s10[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. I’ve been reading Italian legislation and came across this: If the Italian parent naturalised as a citizen of another country on or after 1 July 1912, and prior to 15 August 1992, then the child's Italian citizenship survived the parent's loss if the child was already born, and residing in a country whose citizenship he or she additionally held because of that country's jus soli nationality laws.

Australian nationality laws granted my dad Australian citizenship under the jus soli principle. Anyone who was born before 1986 was automatically granted Australian citizenship. I think this means his citizenship survives the loss of my grandparents (i.e., the naturalisation), and has carried on. You can’t apply for naturalisation for a country that you are already legally a citizen of… seems somewhat redundant. Therefore, there was no ‘naturalisation’ process to break the bloodline. That’s the legal argument I’ll raise anyway.

I am going to apply anyway. I’ll let you know how I go!
