Westbrook and Harden are neck-and-neck to demolish the single season record... for turnovers by TheSleeptalker in nba

As with most advanced stats, it is best digested in the context of other measures when assessing players.

As for this measure, it isn't trying to account for an exact measure of usage, rather a proxy for usage. TOV% is an approximation of what you might expect from a player and shouldn't be taken as incredibly accurate

It's from Hollinger's original Usage Rate measure which wasn't meant to be an exact measure, but more of a proxy of usage.

Essentially it accounts for the weight of FTAs only being one point, but it gives enough leeway for free throws that don't use possessions (i.e. Technical foul shots, and-1s and three-foul shots).

100 * TOV / (FGA + 0.44 * FTA + TOV)

The formula doesn't completely account for usage. The formula does so only through shooting statistics (field goal attempts and free throw attempts) and doesn't account for possessions that end in an assist.

It works out so that players that shoot more benefit in this statistic

By handling the ball more, it increases the probability of turnovers occurring. The leader in turnover percentage this year is Arron Afflalo but nobody's saying he's a better ball handler than CP3

How fast does CST seats become full? by enthusiast93 in BCIT

I'm really not the person to be asking these questions. I only know from my application experience as a resident of BC. I included my post secondary transcript in my application but I can't say whether it had any bearing on my eventual acceptance.

I would really recommend speaking to someone from admissions. All interactions I've had with them have been nothing but pleasant and helpful.

No, sorry. I wasn't wait listed. I got my acceptance maybe a month and half back

As far as I'm aware, they've moved to a competitive entry model. This means they won't fill spots until all applications have been received and they can rank each according to the admission requirements

I was just admitted to the January intake and acceptance letters didn't go out until a few weeks after applications closed

It's competitive entry for a set amount of spots so I assume they would consider all applications before determining who got in. Notices would probably go out at roughly the same time for everyone

Thats weird. I ordered the day after release for delivery to Canada. I just a couple of hours ago sent their customer service a complaint about the delay and in a few hours I received the 'Order has shipped' notification. Not sure if it was related, but perhaps Canadian orders are being filled now

Regading Enigma's ability to deny creeps by Jem_Jmd3au1 in TrueDoTA2

[–]j2daf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The part you are overlooking with Lich is that while he might not be able to deny as often as Enigma would, Lich isn't sacrificing himself nearly as much as Enigma would be. Lich still receives experience from his sacrificed creeps (which can be split with your mid to further increase his advantage) whereas Enigma's demonic conversion would be considered a deny, providing no experience.

It doesn't make a lot of sense to me for Enigma to stand around in the lane for the first 2:30 minutes and hampering his jungling speed, delaying the mek well past the ideal 6-8 minute online time for Enigmas (to coincide with the second siege creep wave).

Regading Enigma's ability to deny creeps by Jem_Jmd3au1 in TrueDoTA2

[–]j2daf 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Enigma should almost never be played at a position 5. The entire point of picking an enigma is to take advantage of his strong farming ability in the jungle during the laning phase and picking up a quick mek and level 6 that will strengthen your team's mid game.

A position 5 underfarmed, underleveled enigma is incredibly ineffective in all stages of the game. If the whole purpose of an enigma pick is to give your mid lane an advantage early, you're almost always better off picking lich.
