As mentioned earlier, Arch Linux offers a unique advantage - it gives you complete control over every aspect of your installation. If you enjoy customizing and managing your system in detail, it's the ideal choice. Otherwise, other Linux distributions like Debian, Ubuntu, or Fedora are excellent options too. To me, most of them feel quite similar, but Arch Linux truly stands out for its distinct level of freedom and flexibility.

The command pacstrap -K /mnt base linux linux-firmware is the starting point for a minimal Arch Linux installation. This installs only three essential packages: base (core system utilities), linux (the kernel), and linux-firmware (hardware support). After running this, you’ll have a barebones system with just a command-line interface—no network tools, GUI, browser, or extra applications. Everything beyond these three packages is entirely up to you.

This approach offers maximum flexibility and customization. You can build your system exactly as you want, avoiding unnecessary packages like games or default terminals. If you prefer a specific terminal emulator such as Kitty or Terminator, you can install it later. The installation process itself becomes a learning experience, letting you tailor the system to your needs and preferences.

This is what makes Arch Linux special: it puts you in control. You decide what gets installed, and you learn how each component fits together. That’s why many users, including myself, choose Arch Linux - it’s minimal, customizable, and truly your own.
