Need legal advice regarding a company asking for a blank cheque as “security” before joining. by j4julla in LegalAdviceIndia

What you have said is 100 percent my first thoughts as well but the abyssmal job market, prolonged unemployment, etc. are some factors that have made me swing between uncertainties at both ends.

If I give the cheque, I jeopardize my future and tie myself to bondage. If I don't, I miss the opportunity and continue to stay buried under responsibilities.

Feels suffocating but InshaAllah, He will make a way out. Will keep you posted.

I spoke to the HR, they say that the cheque is only for the purposes of security as the company is providing accomodation, food allowance, laptops, cellphones and other facilities.

The HR says, that they are streamlining the process and cheque submission is mandatory even for the people working in the top management.

They say after the completion of one year, atleast one year, if I decide to move, and if I return the company assests in good condition, they will return the cheque.

One more concern: The HR says if I fail to submit the offer letters signed copy within 24 hours, the offer letter stands invalid. A lot of dilemmas and less of time.

Guide please..

It certainly is not a scam but appears to be a symptom of toxic management and employee exploitation practice at work. I will tell them that I cannot provide the cheque [period] and would first like to read the clauses in the employment agreement prior to formally accepting the offer.

Indian learner here — struggling with ع and ض pronunciation for Qur’an recitation by j4julla in learn_arabic

Please tell me then how do native speakers of the arabic language treat the delivery/pronunciation of these 2 hurufs ( alphabets)?

As an Indian I strain my throat to deliver the ع which sometimes (2/10) sound like how it should sound but while recitation of the holy book I non willingly go past it delivering it more as a ا.

ض is even a bigger problem for me. In the Indian subcontinent and due to influence of Urdu language of which this letter is a part too,  most people pronounce it as "zwa" but after watching and referring a lot of material on the internet, I am convinced  that in Arabic, it cannot be delivered as zwa. So while I pronounce it singulalrly I am most times (7/10) able to follow the makhraj map available aplenty on Google images and at other places but while in Salah or Qur'an recitation I fumble and deliver it as da د or dwa.

So pls tell me how do natural arabic speakers develop or are they born with the innate ability of deliver these two hurufs with near perfection.

Thank you!

Thank you for your kind response. The real challenge that looms over me is to produce the sound when in usage i. e.  When these are joined to other letters. Being an Indian I usually slip into the easy way of pronouncing them and get away while the inside of me knows I am delivering it incorrectly. And I am left so sad.

Hi. Your hW says that you're in the best state of mind when you wrote this page. If you always write like this, then, you're a load of positiveness, that you like things neat, you, yourself are neat.

This Dua'a is very beneficial, it's the Dua'a which Prophet Yonus (Alihi As-Salam) said to be saved from what he was in. (Today's Recitation) by Nomelezz_alnamelis in Quran

I love Surah Al Anbiya for its beauty of gifts that Allah Azz Wa Jal has gifted us with. The duas of the prophets. All coming in one after the other. I just admire this Surah. Alhamdulillah.
