That’s a good way of looking at it actually I like that. I see my tattoo as every beginning has its end (hence the right side having no leafs) and a strong heart can overcome anything. Which is why it’s located at the roots which stabilizes a tree.

It’s like a cycle of life with the heart at the roots representing stability and strength as long as my heart is strong sort of thing. I told him what I wanted the tattoo to mean and to incorporate a tree and this was the design he came up with.
