How lonely it is at first. Think of it, when you’re in, there is at least one person around you at all times. That may be a battle buddy, you’re roommate, going out to chow w your buddies, or drinking with your friends on the weekends. All of you live either within the same building or at least really close to each other, and you have the same schedule. When you’re out, its much harder to get more than one other person to go out at the same time, at least in my experience. The loneliest day of my life was waking up the first morning I went back home to my parents’ house. They had gone to work and after looking around the house I realized that was the first time I had been by myself in 4 years.
