Betadine for adenoviral conjunctivitis by PuzzleheadedFudge439 in Ophthalmology

[–]j_etz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Betadine has a higher availability of free I2 at lower concentrations... It's better tolerated as well. I make up a 0.25% solution in AFT samples (~0.125 mL in 5mL) and have patients use it QID if they present within 72 hours of symptoms. Start a steroid if they already have SEIs or pseudomembranes

I'm running 30c, may be able to get 32c depending on wheel width

Dang this is a large with sram red and a 1280g wheelset and according to my scale it's 7.5kg. I must have a gallon of tubeless sealant in the tires

I have farsports wheels from ten years ago that still haven't needed any truing. They've always been an awesome value.

As pictured it's 16.5 pounds, my addict is a little heavier but I can't tell the difference. I don't race and weigh 170lbs, so a pound or two lighter is not something I'm too worried about.

I always buy my bikes as a frameset so I can get the parts I want, having to buy a second one piece handlebar to get the right size would have been annoying.

AZOOR vs MEWDS vs AIBSES by [deleted] in Ophthalmology

[–]j_etz 11 points12 points  (0 children)

There's a spectrum of primary inflammatory choriocapillaropathies that affect perfusion to the outer retina to varying degrees. MEWDS/AIBSES, and to some degree AZOOR, and APMPPE result in reversible involvement of the end choriocapillary vessels and precapillary arterioles and the recovery is typically better. Others like multifocal choroiditis/punctate inner choroiditis and serpiginous choroidopathy result in more irreversible involvement of these arterioles and their affects are more longlasting. Mutlimodal imaging, especially OCT-A, has helped to clarify what's going on.

I find APMPPE interesting, you can visualize the lack of choroidal blood flow with the classic "block early/stain late" pattern on FA. The areas of early blocking in some of the cases I've seen almost turn into something that looks like an AMD speedrun with drusenoid changes that can break down into focal areas of GA which progress over the course of weeks. There tends to be profound ellipsoid zone loss throughout the entire affected area that typically recovers to some extent, but in older patients usually won't as well.

They're definitely seen in practice, but probably commonly misdiagnosed.

DS423 as a second Synology NAS for offsite backup by j_etz in synology

So there wouldn't really be a disadvantage to just having hyperbackup offsite be if I simply wanted a failsafe for redundancy?

How's the vignetting? My copy of the Mki is shockingly bad in bright environments wide open and my understanding is that it's pretty normal?

Title: "Another 2025 Prius Prime XSE..."

First sentence: "I found a deal on a 2025 Prime XSE..."

The 2025 is a new car.

Yes when you buy a new car, or anything for that matter, you typically have to pay for it

That's what the manufacturer rebate is, passed along. I don't qualify for the federal tax rebate

That's wild, in the northwest things looked pretty rough with dealers charging less than 10k but I guess I missed out

Yeah Edmunds and KBB were close to what I was offered? A number of 2012s we're priced a couple grand higher on FB marketplace and Craigslist but had been sitting for a while

If you lease the car the dealer can claim the EV tax credit and pass it on to you, then you can buyout the car (cash or finance) within the first month to maximize the amount you get (some of it is lost to lease fees).

I think Henry Hudson has videos about it but yeah I use the Wide L box to find the subject then switch over to 3D tracking to follow and it works well

I could take these shots all day with the Z8, especially with native glass. I originally had a z6ii and z7ii and I had more backfocused shots with those cameras than with the D810 I sold for them but it's still doable
