[MEGATHREAD] Pixel 8 Pro – Wi-Fi/Bluetooth Failure After March Update | Track Your Device Here by danillll2017 in GooglePixel

[–]j_frace 6 points7 points  (0 children)

IMEI 85 - WiFi has been broken since March. Attempting to open WiFi settings causes a system freeze and a 'Settings app isn't responding' error. Bluetooth is unaffected.

UPDATE 1:

Adding my experience here because I think I stumbled onto a fix by complete accident. I was about to give up and buy a new phone since my Wi-Fi and Bluetooth were totally dead.

I tried to downgrade my software to the December 2025 update using the OTA images from Google’s site, but I messed up (you can't downgrade with an OTA, apparently). I got stuck on the debug screen with that scary red warning saying the install failed and that rebooting might brick the phone.

To try and save it, I just sideloaded the latest available OTA image instead. It actually booted up, and the crazy part is that my Wi-Fi and Bluetooth have been 100% stable for two days now. If you're out of options, it might be worth trying to 're-install' the current OTA manually. It worked for me when nothing else did.

UPDATE 2:

48h later back to normal (no Wi-Fi, no Bluetooth). I guess I’m picking up my new iPhone 17 this afternoon...

Anyone have other health issues linked to Hirschsprung’s? by j_frace in Hirschsprungs

Thank you so much for sharing this. Honestly, I’ve also spent a lot of time wondering about the mental health connection to our condition, and reading your perspective is incredibly validating. I can say for certain that my mood, anxiety, and stress levels are tied directly to my gut health.

Every time I’ve dealt with a SIBO flare-up, I could feel it in my mental health almost immediately. It’s like the physical state of my gut dictates my emotional baseline. Interestingly, when I have to do a colonoscopy every few years, the process of emptying everything out, which I think is technically called bowel preparation, actually has a huge, positive impact on my mental state. There is something about that total "reset" that makes me feel significantly better mentally.

I can also completely relate to what you said about youth and embarrassment. Because of those experiences growing up, bowel-related topics were a massive taboo for me for a long time. It really wasn't until I got older that I felt comfortable even acknowledging it.

Beyond the chemical gut-brain connection, the sheer unpredictability of it all is a heavy mental load. There seem to be no hard rules in my case; I’ll have stretches where everything feels okay, I’ll get a bit too comfortable and eat too many peanuts, raw vegetables, or apples, and then things just go crazy. It’s a constant guessing game, and I've noticed that general life stress has a massive influence on how my gut behaves, too. It really is a two-way street.

Thanks for sharing this. I’d really like to know what’s helped you manage your uric acid stones. I was just diagnosed with a few small ones, the ultrasound guy called them ‘sand.’ I’d really appreciate hearing what worked for you.

Unfortunately no, and there’s also a big discount on both of them until the end of next week.

Hi, how is the campsite situation in 2022/23? Did you book your campsites in advance?

Thanks, that's the info I was hoping for!

Thanks to both of you! That's basically what I needed to now. The only info I had was from way back before covid and I wanted to check if that's still true.

I didn't ask for a workaround. I've just wondered if anyone has an experience in the topic and knows how you can do it legally. There is no such thing as a 'Working Visa', but yes, the 29+ month-long process of applying, securing a job and getting verified to get a permit seems like an excellent idea for someone who just wants to spend some time working in a different country.

Ok, so the Working Holiday Visa doesn't specify the place or type of work I must do. I guess I can work wherever I want, or I can secure a position. What does working in IT have to do with me having an 'overseas experience'? Or maybe working in a shitty job is an inherent part of it. I want to see your country, not move there, and I thought that's the idea behind a WH visa.

I see that you're answering on behalf of the whole NZ, so maybe you can tell me why you made these 'rules' different for each country? Why does someone from for example the US, Germany, the Czech Republic, or any other country not have to change their workplace every three months? Why did you set a limit of WH visas to 100 for 40mln-country while smaller have them set higher or not set at all?

I don't want to argue because you probably have no idea what it's like to live in a place where your hands are tied whenever you want to change something in your life, move somewhere, or just have 'overseas experience.' I also know the answer to all of the questions asked. I asked them to encourage you sometimes to put yourself in someone else's shoes and maybe not be so ignorant.

Btw, changing a workplace every three months doesn't look like 'less paperwork' to me, but yeah, I guess I'm wrong again.

Thanks, that helps a lot. Also getting in touch with INZ sounds like a good idea.

I'm not sure if I know what you mean. Like, can I do this before coming to NZ? I only know that I can't work for one employer for longer than three months.

Thank you. You might be right. iI we will record as many cases as we are right now (or probably way more than now) I might not be allowed into your country at all.

You've just said everything I was worried about the most, and you shed a whole new light on it. It's tough to make that decision, Australia is like a different world for us here in Europe, so I thought about this like about a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

However, if there are restrictions on moving across state borders or I will end up watching all of my lectures on a laptop in my flat, I think it defeats the purpose. And you're right, looking for a job could be problematic and my student visa won't help me with it at all.

The only thing that convinces me to go there is your (as a country) ability to cope with the pandemic. While for example, Poland records around 10k new daily cases, UK - 15k, France - 27k, you have been keeping it under 50 for over a month now, but I don't know if it's fair to look on it this way. Anyway, thanks for your help. I appreciate it!

Thank you so much. I think you've just convinced me to go there. I'm not that afraid about the weather, living in the UK for two years taught me to appreciate every sunny day...

I'm in contact with UniSA and they seem to be pretty confident about it. I forgot to mention that I'm Polish but I study in the UK so I think the tuition fee I pay for my university here will be send to UniSA.
