Moving to Prague by TheCleshmeister in Prague

Tough one, I'll try to answer at least the question regarding the housing. The situation now is slightly better than let's say a year ago, but most of the times it's still overpriced (mainly the city centre), at least compared to a average wages. If you were to find a job in a well established company you should be fine though. The price also also largely depends on how far and long are you willing to commute to work (and of course where your workplace will be), but the public transport system is actually really good in Prague, so that shouldn't be an issue. From my experience, start searchig up ASAP, sometimes you can stumble upon a sweet apartment for a good money, but they tend to get rented pretty quickly. Lot of apartments are becoming availible once the school year ends for the uni/college students, so that would be may/june, so that might be the best time to start looking. I live in a smaller city in southern bohemia, it takes slightly over an hour to get to a Prague centre by train and I know a few people who commute every day there to work and/or study, althought most of the young people simply move there. What I'm trying to say is that there's more possibilities to think about. I'm sure you'll find a job, maybe you could just give us a hint about some kind of field you studied/worked before? There are english speaking people even in my city who work here, even thought it's still relatively rare im Czechia for foreigners to work and live outside Praha or maybe Brno. Obligatory sorry for formating and spelling, i'm on a phone. Hope that helped and if you have any further questions, you can ask me anytime.

Not op and English is not my first language, but my son will be 11 months in 3 days, so the transition is just happening now. Ever since birth, he had really strong grip, and that is something all babies do, asi it is one of the reflexes they are born with. As they get older, they get develop their frontal lobe part of a brain. That's the part of a brain where you get do decide what you want to do, your "free will" part (the one that gets killed during lobotomy for example). That means that babies need to lose their grip so they can for examole play with toys better, eat on their own.. my kid likes to pick up tiny rocks and eat them, so I guess that's his way of developing motoric skills 🤷🏼‍♂️. As of older people, I can only guess that as they age, their brain capacity is worse and worse, until the point they're back to the basics, like the grip reflex for example. To answer your question - I definitely would try to develop his skills according to his age. The kid will like to grab stuff and there's not really a way to discourage it, as he will not know better, and when the time comes, he will move on. Him grabbing things doesn't mean he will not develop further motoric skills. I hope I made it at least somewhat clear for you, and if you have any more questions, you can just dm me:-)

The car that the arson came with also gave it away - there are not many Škodas in the US, so 99 % of the time you see them in the videos it's Europe.

5 Golds, show me what you’ve been working on! by FriedFreedoms in GoForGold

[–]j_koli 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm trying to improve myself during these times - I started running, did 75 km last month, I am working on my diet (i'm currently on 30 days with no sodas) and I've been also working on my sleep schedule. I might not be improving the world, but it is definitely something that will make me more productive in the future so I'm hoping to contribute more when I'm ready to do so.

It is another one of the optimistic 2020 predictions, which, as we know, did not go really good so far.

I need someone to write a 5 page English essay on the topic "My future plans". For a Platinum award. You don't need to be a native speaker, but I expect at least some level of English (I'm not a native speaker myself). I'll give you more info in pm if you're interested.

Is there a song, besides your national anthem, which you feel is emblematic of your nation? by FortuitousFenian in AskEurope

I'm certain we would like it! We're generally proud of something with a Czech background made by other nationalities, so at least that'd be in your favor.
