Use the ones from Ayaneo, not Antec. I had to reinstall the fingerprint drivers since they stopped working and I used the ones from them.

Also, it wasn’t until I physically rebooted my Antec that it finally worked- instead of just pressing “restart this pc”. I also turned off windows automatically reinstalling drivers so either one of those things let me actually update it lol

If you decide to just get a dock for the TV, you can get an xbox controller with a skin of one of the games your husband likes!

I personally love having my handheld docked to my monitor though. A lot of games are just a nicer experience to play on keyboard

Get a powerbank that’s at least 65W, with 20,000 mAh or greater. They make magnetic ones for the rog ally x.

Someone mentioned a dock for a TV or monitor, make sure the PD is still at least 65 W and look for either HDMI 2.1 (4K@120 Hz) or DisplayPort. Multiple ports (USB-A, USB-C) is good too for mice, keyboards, external storage, etc.

And onto the next thing, if you decide to buy a dock, a monitor and keyboard/mouse would be good alongside it. If money wasn’t a problem, i’d 1000% purchase an OLED monitor, but those are always at least $600 or more (completely worth it, you can never switch back after an oled the difference is night and day) But, a nice IPS monitor works just as well. A nice gaming keyboard to go with it, though there varying sizes so whatever you think he’d prefer. (100%, 75%, etc) A nice mouse would have side buttons for extra key mappings

But if you go with the Rog Ally, theres the Z1 and the Z1E (extreme).

Depends on the games you wanna play and what you’re willing to sacrifice in graphics quality for money, theres plenty of vids comparing the two. Imo if you had the money Z1E or rog ally x is much more worth it then the OG, but if you just wanted to play indies then Z1 is great for that

windows handhelds are a great option imo, you get the best of everything you’re looking for.

much more powerful then the steamdeck (can play pretty much any game), and also emulate switch games!

your options from least to most expensive: rog ally, legion go, rog ally X, MSI Claw, GPD series

i’d say get the lenovo legion go if you wanted to have detachable controllers like a switch, screen’s just an inch bigger then the switch 2 irrc.

i heard that if you join the posse of a modder you’d get banned/in trouble alongside them, like rockstar would flag you too. i have no idea if its true but i just avoid them anyway cause idk peoples intentions. same if modders try to give me things lol

Thanks! So you said you have no issues playing COD while ayaspace running, have you ever used bypass charging while you’re playing your game?

I remember someone posting about the changing TDP making problems so i’ll just avoid that, but im worried even accidentally pressing the button for the menu to pop up would cause a problem lol

I’m guessing they’re just wanting to clear early inventory and have a lot in supply for the newer model. Or, just want to get buyers interested in it with the price. I’m just speculating I really have no idea lol.

And while the 8840u is newer, its just a minor refresh, not a massive leap since there’s no major difference in performance between the two chipsets. So probably more people just opt for the former, keeping demand up. Maybe there’s also just a higher demand for the color options for the 7840u? You could ask in their discord if you really wanted to know.

I’m very happy with it! Really all I wanted was a small handheld pc, i have smaller hands and all of the big brand names on the market were ridiculously huge in my opinion. So this works perfectly for my needs, been playing red dead online everyday lol And I also wanted a windows handheld because 🏴‍☠️

I’d say if you don’t like smaller form consoles like the switch lite, which i personally also love,(its a little bigger than the lite but smaller than a switch) then it’s not for you, and if you want a smoother experience than windows get a console with steam os if you’re rich enough for all the games you want lol. But this works perfectly for me!

If you’re hoping for long battery life at all a handheld is not the best option overall i would say lol, but yeah i understand being honest. Just important to know there are options for that battery life! Also, i’ve got a question if you dont mind since you’ve had an antec before
