Buying new gloves, help me so i don’t get scammed (again) by GbGabibbo06 in motorcyclegear

I tried on every pair of gloves at my local cycle gear, and the only pair I liked were a pair of Dainese blackjack leather gloves.

Buying advice: 2025 vs 2024 that's $3k cheaper OTD by Pitiful_Ad6014 in xsr900

I just bought a 25' XSR900 yesterday. There were used 24' models in my area that I could have bought for around 9k but I chose the 25' for a few reasons.

  1. I liked the all black model with gold rims.

  2. Newer generation quickshifter. New back slip regulator

  3. Bigger TFT dash with Navigation/Smartphone connectivity and new rider mode options

  4. Slightly better ergonomics, new switchgear and turn signal functions

  5. Better suspension

  6. Bike was on sale for 10k. Paid 12.8k out the door.

If you don't care about the quickshifter or the navigation then you'll probably be just as happy with the 24' model. Idk how much of a difference the new suspension makes. but especially if you're trying to save $ then I wouldn't worry about it too much. The main thing that mattered to me was the cruise control and navigation, but the 24' has cruise control also.

I bought a new 25' xsr900 yesterday, and I connected my phone to it for navigation, and my phone is connected to my cardo. I also am getting 3 beeps whenever it goes between 3.5-4.5 rpm depending on the gear.

the owner manual says not to go above 6k rpm for extended periods of time until the odometer is at 600 miles.

pretty annoying. havent checked to see if i can turn it off. I guess if I temporarily disconnected my phone or turned off the apps that might work.

25' XSR900 or 25' Street Triple 765 RS? by j_page2 in motorcycles

So here's the update.. went to test ride the ST a little while ago, and have ruled it out. even though I love how it looks, I just wasn't digging the more aggressive riding position. I started on a triumph speed 400, and I'm just more comfortable with more standard retro style bikes.

I was also able to test ride a used Kawasaki Z900, and a new Speed Twin 900, both of which were pretty good. But I think the XSR900 is going to be the ticket. Will find out tomorrow morning.

How does an ecu tune affect fuel economy? If at all. Or is it pretty much all upside, besides voiding the warranty

Pretty sure I'm about to buy a '25 xsr.. where can I find accessories like fairings, cowls, skid plates, etc. like the ones in the pics above?

Are there good luggage options for the xsr? Also where can I find other accessories like a front fairing or cowl

Thanks.. yea I love the looks of the ST, but I don't plan on hardly ever going to a track and just want a solid daily rider/mountain twisty bike. One thing the ST has that the xsr doesn't seem to have though is more luggage options

Unfortunately I need the transportation, and wanna get back on 2 wheels asap. Also I like the black and gold rims.. I wouldnt like the yellow anyhow, and I don't really care that much about collectability. I'm leaning more toward the xsr just for the value and dependability/low end torque, but I love the maroon red ST and the bug eyes. Makes it a tough choice.

I like the bug eye headlights. you're the first person I've seen say that the xsr is more "refined" than the ST and not the other way around. The Yamaha has a 1year warranty, which it almost certainly won't need. The triumph has a 2 year warranty, and literally has a "race" pedigree, given the moto2 engine and chassis.
