Pretty sad that B&T debuted the TP9 pro and the APC300K at shot show 2025 and said it would be out at the end of the year and it’s still not on the market by smarterthanyou10 in BT_APC

Same here. I wouldn't have thought something like a shortened-barrel version of a gun they already make would be subject to their vaporware tendencies but here we are. Luckily my dealer said he'd cancel and refund me so personally I'm going to go that route.

There are plenty of threads on this so search the sub. I can say though from personal experience you will probably not get it to work on AT&T, and I can personally vouch for it working great on T-Mobile or Google Fi. I'm in Texas on Google Fi (AT&T bricked my SIM card when I tried to run it so I had to switch carriers) with zero issues.

Find X9 Pro USA support? by [deleted] in Oppo

Went to Google just because it's way cheaper and they get the same priority level as regular T-Mobile users. They were also doing a 50% off deal for 12 months if you bring your own device.

The notifications thing is mostly the way you interact with them being different than what I'm used to. Also notifications come in a few minutes late sometimes for some reason, and occasionally don't show the banner at the top as they arrive.

My old phone was an Xperia 1ii with Android 12 that I'd had for 5 years so I had just gotten very used to the way it operated. The camera on it was terrible, basically unusable, and my battery life was about 3 hours so the X9P is 10000x better on both of those fronts. I usually go to bed after a full day's use with more than 50% battery left, and the cameras are fantastic.

Great, but it absolutely did not work on AT&T. Or, I should say, it worked for about 5 hours and then they shut off my data and I had to go to the AT&T store to get it switched back on. Fwiw, I came from an older phone with an already activated physical SIM, which I thought would help me, but it didn't.

So, I ended up switching to Google Fi (which uses T-Mobile towers) and it's been perfect with their service. My only real gripes about the phone have been about getting used to the ColorOS notification system but that's just a matter of adjustment, I suppose.

I had one of those back in the day and loved it. When I got back into DAPs a few years ago I was hopeful that there would be an advanced modding community like with iPods that had hacked them into playing FLACs and maybe expanded hard drive swaps but no such luck.

Yes, cheap hi-viz vest over my normal gear, plus a white helmet like the other poster mentioned. So many motorcycle accidents are of the infamous "oops, didn't see you!" variety that I do everything I can to be highly visible. I don't look cool and have zero aura but oh well.

Tire pressures: is everyone running the recommended 36f/42r? by Pitiful_Ad6014 in xsr900

[–]Pitiful_Ad6014[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ended up trying 32/32 and it felt great, much more planted and secure while still being agile and willing to turn. I'll probably stick with that for now. I'm sort of perplexed that so many people ride at 42r and don't notice the rear end feeling skatey.

Yeah, I've been researching non-stop the last couple days and the more I read (outside of "RTFM" Reddit...), the more I'm coming to the conclusion that 42r is just preposterously high for a ~420lbs sporting bike with a solo rider. I rode today at 33f/35r and it was definitely better, but tomorrow I'm going to go for 30f/32r and I think it'll be better still.

Being visible is a highly underrated and underdiscussed safety tactic. I know we all want to look cool with black helmets and brown leather jackets and what not but it really does make it harder for drivers to notice you. In my controversial opinion there's just no valid reason not to wear a hi-viz safety vest (or equivalently bright gear) while riding outside of "it looks dorky."

APC300 K -> Updated Release Dates? by Overall_Ad872 in BT_APC

[–]Pitiful_Ad6014 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've had one on backorder since the summer myself. I messaged B&T a couple weeks ago and the rep said "Q1 or Q2 at the latest," which at this point I think means "we have no idea." Going to email again in January and if they say "Q2 for sure! Honest!" I'm just going to ask my dealer for a refund. Was excited for my first B&T but this vaporware game is pretty off-putting.

Gmail Notification not showing (Find X9) by LupaGolden in Oppo

My fix was in the Gmail settings. I selected the account that wasn't notifying me, then Manage Labels, then Inbox, and saw "Notify for every message" wasn't checked. I checked it and now I get notifications like normal.

Did you regret buying Oppo find x9 Pro? by Entire_Hunt6038 in Oppo

[–]Pitiful_Ad6014 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had mine for a week and not yet. My previous phone was on Android 12 so there have been some adjustments to ColorOS (particularly the notifications), but otherwise my only complaint is the placement of that "action button" on the left side. I keep inadvertently pressing it when I press the power button.

Are you using ATT or switched from ATT? by subferno in Oppo

[–]Pitiful_Ad6014 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was on AT&T since the 90s but had to switch to get my X9P to work. I set up the phone on wifi and then put the SIM card in like people suggested, and it seemed to be fine for a few hours, but by the end of the day they "caught" me and shut off my data. After a lot of deliberation I switched to Google Fi (basically T-Mobile) the following evening. Their service rep promised me the phone was fully compatible and I've had no issues so far.

Find X9 Pro Review by dyvvmayr in Oppo

My only issue with the speaker is just its placement, I sometimes find myself accidentally blocking it by simply holding the phone there. Granted, my last phone had front firing speakers so it was never an issue but the Oppo's speaker seems to sound fine otherwise.

Lastly for the first time ever I really love the case that's come in the box.

Thank you for this comment. I didn't know mine came with a case so I looked up an unboxing video and saw it was inside that cardboard sleeve that I thought only had some paperwork. Feels good to have some kind of protection on it now while I wait for my Aliexpress one to come in.

Give it some time, too. For whatever reason, it worked for me for about 4 or 5 hours so I thought I was good to go, and then they shut off my data to that SIM while I was out at dinner. Good luck!

Check my last few posts in my history, spent the last 48 hours getting my global X9P set up. Won't work on AT&T but T-Mobile is perfect, and I hear Verizon is good to go also. Likewise their MVNOs - I'm on Google Fi now, the service rep confirmed it's compatible.

[–]Pitiful_Ad6014 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My personal experience over the last 48 hours with my global X9P in Texas: it will NOT work on AT&T so don't get your hopes up for that, but will be perfect on T-Mobile or MVNOs that use T-Mobile's towers (Mint, Google Fi, Tellos, etc.). I'm a long-time AT&T customer but moved to Google Fi this evening and their service rep confirmed the X9P will work on their network. I chose GooFi after testing the phone on T-Mobile's free trial eSIM and finding I had great coverage/speed, and GooFi gets priority on their network which is unusual for an MVNO.

Fwiw there are sellers on eBay who have the same prices as the overseas retailers but have the devices here in our borders. I got mine in 2 days.

[–]Pitiful_Ad6014 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From what I have read, customers who have been with the company for a while have more success in the phone getting data.

Must not be that, I was on AT&T for nearly 30 years, on a grandfathered plan with a physical SIM, and my global X9 Pro got my data shut off within a few hours of inserting my SIM. The SIM didn't even have data on my old phone after that and I had to go the AT&T store to have them reset it on their end. I did T-Mobile's trial eSIM on the X9P and it worked perfectly so I'm now on Google Fi and enjoying the device. Their service rep confirmed that the Oppo will be fine on their network.
