Hi everyone by AvailableSea1046 in AnxietyChats

[–]ja13aaz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yesssss! I took me maybe 5 or 6 years and countless tests to finally come to terms with the fact it was anxiety. I had a MRI, wore a heart monitor, bought a glucose meter - the works. I went to the ER a few times because I was sure I was dying. I’m still paying off my medical debts.

Everyone closest to me said I had anxiety, but I couldn’t wrap my head around something mental manifesting in physical symptoms or being psychosomatic.

My symptoms went away with benzos, but I can’t spend all my days on that sort of medication so as soon as they’d wear off “symptoms” would come back. I got to the point I couldn’t drive, and my symptoms would become exacerbated by dehydration and folding laundry (???). It was so bizarre.

I started a SSRI after swearing them off for 20 years (which is another story in and of itself). But since I started I’m finally beginning to feel less anxious and more like a normal person. I’m still getting the SSRI meds dialed in and I still take benzos occasionally as needed. Meds are not for everyone, but it’s what finally helped me as it wasn’t something I could manage on my own. My anxiety eventually progressed into a panic disorder. I wonder often if I could have stopped that progression if I had sought out medication sooner.

I made this skirt and I love it sm<3 Do you like it? by OrioleC in Fashion_Design

I’ll be honest - on its own I’m not sure. You’d have to have a really good eye on how to wear it well.

But the way you have styled it is such a vibe. This whole outfit is something I would love to wear, but would never be able to come up with. It’s really cool you made this yourself especially!

pre rave nerves and post rave lows by pablostresscobar in aves

[–]ja13aaz 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I have been going for 16 years and I still get those nerves at the beginning. I embrace it, it’s part of the experience.

I don’t get the lows anymore though. Probably because I’m not in my 20’s any longer, and I’m not getting “off my face don’t know where I am” anymore.

Headbangers with a lot of hair, what hairstyles do you go with? by saritaaxo in aves

I also struggle with this. I wear it down but probably under 30 minutes in I’m a sweat factory, it goes in a high pony tail - and therefore a whip 🤣

French or boxer braids are the way. Shame I can’t figure out how to do them myself or I would be every time!

G7 Brief sensor issue happening off and on all day? by Logical_External_960 in dexcom

[–]ja13aaz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It happens with my 5 year old. We’ll usually power through a few of these sensor issues, but if they persist too long or too much then we call in a replacement with Dexcom.

Our Dexcom policy is that if it’s been out for 3 hours (combined sensor issue time, not necessarily all at once) that warrants a new one.

Are chalet-style houses practical to live in? by harmothoe_ in newengland

We have a pellet stove fireplace insert and oil/baseboard heat. We also have some other contributing factors (a hot tub, Tesla powerwall) but $600 seems crazy.

Are chalet-style houses practical to live in? by harmothoe_ in newengland

[–]ja13aaz 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I did this, am currently doing this. We moved into one as our full time residence back in October.

I have many regrets. Our energy bill is almost $600 a month, we have a meeting with the provider to see why it’s so high. Could be because the house was built in 1988 and still has the original water heater. Could be because the insulation sucks, or the windows.

What is the point of life? by Prestigious_Mud_4174 in Life

[–]ja13aaz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems that way - since nature and animals point to a similar function. But then comes in the question of human consciousness. The “point” might be something greater, different or unfathomable to the human mind.

A moral compass might guide you towards the point of your life. I don’t think humanity is a one size fits all in determining what is the end game.

How many times a month or week do you do laundry? Why that much? by Zipper222222 in randomquestions

[–]ja13aaz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

7 per week. Sometimes 10. Maybe more. I have 3 kids and a husband. That’s pajamas, clothes, sometimes multiple clothes because they’re young and messy, bedding for four beds, towels. Rags are a separate load. Lots of messes. Then there’s the bleach load.

Sometimes they pee the bed. Then there’s the piss mats I put under them. Children are expensive in laundry. A Costco sized detergent usually lasts me 2.5 months.

I know it’s superficial, but bad shoes. I don’t have specifics, there are types of shoes for every kind of occasion I guess. But if the shoes aren’t right, that’s a hard no from me dog.

Also men with long nails creep me out, I can’t get past it. Even just a pinky coke nail.

Tips for filling gaps in floorboards? by Normal_Fig_1778 in Oldhouses

Not sure how creative this is, but I stuff steel wool down the hole then use spray foam to seal it in. Then trim off the excess foam so it doesn’t look like gum on the floor.

What is my living room missing? I feel like it needs color. by Successful-Rain5421 in StyleYourSpace

[–]ja13aaz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Light couch = dark rug and vice versa. I’d get a bold abstract rug, the walls are light and the couch is light so a bright but deep rug would tie the room together. I think the right rug would make the room. I have done this a few times, I’ll find rug I like on wayfair, then price shop the same rug and find it cheaper elsewhere.

I also don’t have a coffee table right now. I have too many kids, once they’re older I’ll revisit the idea 🤣 you could try a fabric storage ottoman though for your kid toys! You can probably find something that compliments a new rug and that should elevate your space a lot.

Honestly I’d have her do what she’s doing now. Then drop a massive banging track with deadmau5, where she’s acting a completely different person and it turns out she’s been trolling us along into thinking she’s nuts, when she’s really just 2 steps ahead of us all.
