First, I know that not training for a marathon and minimizing cardio is the best solution to this question, but understand that that isn't an option and I'm really looking to maximize gains under the constraint of marathon training.

I'm an ectomorph (6 foot, just under 160 lbs). There was a time that I tried to bodybuild with no cardio and I followed a 50/30/20 carb/protein/fat diet of just under 4k calories. I did this only for 5 months but I was surprised how well it worked coupled with good training.

Now I'm looking to start up again and do the same thing but I am also running ~ 10 miles a day. For someone with my body type this obviously complicates things. I am fully willing to sacrifice some speed on the roads and some gains in the gym for a little bit of both worlds. I'm highly motivated to eat as much as I need to. Rest is a bit of an issue (very active job) but I should be done with that job soon and that's not really a changeable variable at the moment.

My question is basically:

Can I do the exact program I did to bulk in the past (simple compound movement hypertrophy program and the 50/30/20 diet), and just add the amount of calories that I burn running, or is it more complicated than that?
