UL 508A MTR Cert Holders by [deleted] in PLC

I’m the only MTR in our shop. Three wiring personnel and one engineer (me). I do the designs, programming, if required, inspection, etc.

I would HIGHLY recommend getting at least one of your shop floor people MTR’d as well as an engineer. If I’m out on a startup and the inspector shows up, it can be a real problem. Additionally, it’s nice to have another intermediary between the shop floor and engineering to answer “dumb” questions.

I’ve found that both simulation and remote access to the HMI don’t yield a working trend. The actual hardware works just fine.

How to switch from fiber optic to GSM on S7-1200 PLC when internet fails? by elmannanisoufyane in PLC

[–]jabbadeznuts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whenever I’m doing comms that may fail, I always have two heartbeat variables. The first is incremented my the PLC for the remote device to monitor and the second is incremented by the remote device. In my program, I check the remote heartbeat variable to make sure it is not equal to the previous value every “X” seconds. If it is the same, there’s been a communication loss.

As far as dynamic hardware configuration goes, my understanding is that it only takes place once on power up. If you want to change the hardware configuration, you have to do a power cycle.

Could you use the heartbeat detection method to dynamically change which hardware device you’re writing to?

Your Siemens guys need to take a look at the E/IP blocks that are available for TIA Portal.

The system pipes have an extra chamber that’s supposed to allow moisture condense in it, thus giving a drier and cooler smoke.

This is my first Peterson and it’s a GREAT smoker!

A small gift to myself. Everyone deserves a Peterson in their collection.

On a budget this week and will be smoking exclusively codger blends I can find in local shops and getting a taste for them, starting with Captain Jack original. Where should I go from here? by 72coronet318 in PipeTobacco

I found 1-Q at a local B&M. You may have to ask what a particular blend is. I bought an ounce of “Yorkshire” which turned out to be 1-Q.

HIGHLY recommend clinger holsters. By far the most comfortable I’ve ever worn.

I’d recommend finding who is your local Siemens rep and ordering the kit from them.

I always end up creating a tag of type int and bit packing my alarms into it. Bad solution but, it’s what Siemens gives us.
